There was some info relased today about it. It will be released in the fall for Japan and it'll be for the PS2 and PC in Japan and ported to the XBox as well for the US version (GCN version thought of, not confirmed yet). No said of it being a MMO again, it'll probably though.

Ooh, another PS game. I hope it's like Ep1&2, then I'll get it. Hopefully I can port over my characters from Ep1&2.

I just read an article in EGM about this game, it looks really interesting. Though I would have liked to have a kinda PSO storyline, whereas you can make your own character. Also, it seems that instead of player classes based on weapon types (swords, guns, magic), it's based on species (Newman, Human, Beast), I prefered the former. I'm definatly going to try this game out when it's released.

Looks like im updating my PC...its been officially announced for PC and PS2... www.gamesindustry.biz/press_release.php?aid=7903SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON (April 8, 2005) – SEGA® of America, Inc. and SEGA Europe Ltd today announced Phantasy StarTM Universe, the next installment in the popular Phantasy Star series, developed for both the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and the PC. Phantasy Star Universe offers two complete RPG experiences - a single-player action adventure spanning multiple planets, and a robust online multi-player component.
Developed by SEGA Studios under the guidance of Yuji Naka, the creator of Sonic the Hedgehog and Phantasy Star Online, Phantasy Star Universe offers long-time fans the single-player experience they have been clamoring for. The solo adventure features more than 40 hours of gameplay, an emotionally engaging story, traditional cut scenes, and strong character development. The title's hero is Ethan Waber, a 17-year old cadet intent on saving his sister, who is living on a planet under siege by mysterious life forces called THE SEED.
In Online Mode, players are given the opportunity to create their own characters from a range of races, and they get to explore all three planets in the Grarl solar system. Fans can travel with a squad of other adventurers, enter urban sprawls teeming with hundreds of other players, and build their avatars into powerful warriors.
"From its roots way back in the late eighties, Phantasy Star has become synonymous with quality RPG adventure." comments Matt Woodley, European Marketing Director for SEGA Europe, "Now developed as both a single-player and an online multi-player game, Phantasy Star Universe delivers RPG fans their greatest adventure yet"
The first Phantasy Star game to appear on a PlayStation platform, Phantasy Star Universe will offer a rich, constantly evolving world that will provide years of entertainment to fans of the series and RPG enthusiasts. The game is slated to ship in Spring 2006. For screenshots for this title, visit the SEGA FTP site at: segapr.segaamerica.com.

Make sure you have an AGP or PCI-E slot some computers just have integrated graphics (like me) if that's the case (not having a slot) you won't be able to upgrade in the graphics department. Yeah my computer could only handle 512MB SD RAM which sucks. Gotta get a newer system. And yeah PSU looks wicked cool. I really like how the characters look in the game.
