I use txt because Angelfire doesn't allow offsite linking to pictures, and using txt lets you do that.

If I gave something a txt extention, it would probably display it as text....in an <a> tag anyway. But do some browsers get confused? I notice alot that Windows XP and 2000 can't save a jpg as a jpg but only lets you save as a bmp (some sites). But using a download manager gets the main file saved right.

It's probably some Microsoft thing designed to make things easier, but actually complicates things, like usual.

It's probably some Microsoft thing designed to make things easier, but actually complicates things, like usual. Oh, you're referring to how they rename bmp files to have the sys extention right? In windows 95/98, the startup logo is C:\logo.sys but if you rename it to a bmp file, it opens just fine lol. But don't do that because there is additional format that will be lost if you modify that file. If you're a Windows 95/98 user, check out my Tails Startup logo at http://xfox_prower.tripod.com/download/bootlogo.zip. If you're not on win95/98, you can still see the sys/bmp thing I mentioned.
