Well, I just couldn't keep it to myself, folks. Here is Sonic the Hedgehog E - Part 2. If you have not yet read Part 1, you may do so by clicking here. Part 2 is the conclusion to Sonic the Hedgehog E, and will (hopefully) have an unexpected ending. It's rated PG-13, as opposed to Part 1 being a mere PG, mainly because of more violence (not more than necessary, however). The language has been cut down, because some of the cursing in Part 1 was a bit unnecessary, come to think of it. Anyway, here's chapter one - much longer than the chapters in Part 1.

At the ruins of Eggbase...
"Ha. That Sonic thinks he has gotten rid of me. Well, he is wrong. Dead wrong." Dr. Eggman chuckled to himself. The Eggbase Sonic and his friends launched an assault against was a decoy - it gave Eggman time to work on his ultimate weapon. Metal was gone for good, but that didn't matter to Eggman anyway. "They've gotten through faster than I have expected. But it doesn't matter! I am near completion towards the ultimate goal, and Sonic will not be able to stop me by then. I have already won, Sonic the Hedgehog!"

Two months had passed since Sonic and his friends destroyed Eggbase. Between then and now, Sonic had been awarded the Act of Heroism Award for his actions. It was the first award Sonic had ever received, surprisingly. Several times, he and Tails were offered to work for the President, alongside Rouge the Bat and Mighty the Armadillo. They preferred adventures to secret agencies, so the hedgehog and fox turned down the jobs each time.
Dark was reading a bulletin board near the center of Station Square. A majority of it was six-week old newspaper clippings of Sonic and Tails. He also saw a wanted poster at the corner, with the face of a black hedgehog slapped right onto it. He smirked. The face was his, but the name clearly stated, "Shadow the Hedgehog". "Shows how intelligent the government is," he mused. He crossed out Shadow's name and wrote "Dark the Hedgehog" on it with a marker.
Dark was indeed a wanted criminal. He had stolen art from the world's top-secured museums in the past year - without being caught. He lied to Rouge about the martial arts class, and just as he expected, the batgirl fell for it. He wasn't an actual bad guy, however - he helped people whenever he had to, and despised Eggman. Bad guy or no bad guy, he was wanted by six major governments around the world. In fact, he wanted to be caught by the military, simply because he liked good challenges, hence why he corrected the wanted poster. He couldn't be captured anyway - and no one could find him out - so why skip on some fun?

At the Presidential House, the President called Mighty to his office.
As soon as he walked into the room, Mighty was the first to shoot his mouth. "Jeez, where's Rouge where you need her? She said she'd be back by her vacation by two weeks ago, and the git still hasn't returned!" He would have continued his whining, too, if the President didn't interrupt him. He looked out of the window as he spoke. "I wouldn't worry about Miss Rouge at this moment. Right now, you have an assignment. Some people have reported sights of a dark figure near the Capital City. We can't be certain if it is Dr. Eggman, but..."
"I'm back~!" Both the President and Mighty faced the door as Rouge entered. She was wearing a pair of loose jeans and a short-sleeved shirt that had a palm tree design, which was slightly transparent. Mighty grumbled, "I knew it, she went to America again. The simple-minded weasel. What's so great about America anyway...?"
Rouge ignored him and said to the President, "Sorry, I overheard you and Mighty talking about Dr. Eggman's rumored re-appearance, so I couldn't help myself." She laughed. The President responded, "Good. Now that you're here, Mighty will have an easier time on his mission. Right, Mi--" Mighty was standing in the corner, with an ill look on his face. "Damn her. Why'd she have to come at this moment? This could have been my turn to steal the attention away from her..."
Outside, they hopped into Rouge's convertible and left, with Rouge at the wheel. Mighty's head was hanging out of the car and was counting the lines on the road. He hated being with Rouge more than anything in the world. Unfortunately for him, it was a four-hour drive to the Capital City. Although he would never admit it, he had a crush on Rouge. They've been partners for about nine months, and the more they worked together, the more he grew to like her. Rouge's feelings were mutual, but she wasn't afraid to express her feelings once in a while, though not directly.
Finally, he faced Rouge, who had a cheerful expression on her face, much to Mighty's disbelief. "Must you wear that moronic outfit?" he snapped. Rouge stuck her tongue at him. Mighty turned away again, and said to himself, "Winged git." Rouge smacked him in the shoulder with her fist playfully, which made Mighty resent her even more. "Worst time of my life...."

They eventually arrived at the Capital City. The streets were empty; spare a few people hurrying to their homes or apartments. "Wonder if Eggman's still here - if he was even here in the first place." Before Rouge had a chance to park the car on a curb, Mighty leaped out, which he always did. "Mighty!" Rouge hollered. "One of these days you're going to get killed that way." "For you, that'd be a good thing?" he inquired. He thought he heard something on top of one of the buildings. With a running start, he leaped into the air and onto one of the apartments. A few buildings away, a figure had its back to him.
Mighty crossed over the buildings with a few leaps and went into his infamous fighting stance. "Come on, Eggman! What do you think you're doing...." He then saw that it wasn't Eggman at all, but rather Dark, the black hedgehog. "What? Sonic? Or, rather.... Shadow? Come on!" Mighty revved into a spin and accelerated towards Dark. Quick at decisions, Dark spun around and held up his ghostly hands. Mighty collided into it, and sparks flew everywhere as the spinning armadillo tried to drill right through Dark's hands. Dark pulled back his "arms," and tossed him several yards away, as if he was shooting an energy beam.
Rouge climbed up the building. "Mighty!" She only saw Dark, standing right next to her hands as she gripped the edge of the building. "You again... you're the one who I've met at Station Square... the one who is wanted...." Dark immediately kicked Rouge in the face, knocking her off. Rouge slowly fell down back onto the ground, unconscious.
"Hey, Shadow-wannabe!" a voice called out above. Dark looked up as he saw a red spinning ball shooting downwards, aimed at his head. Mighty drilled right into him, and the two combats crashed through six stories of concrete. Dark pushed himself away from the cannonball-like armadillo and crashed through a window. He fell three stories and landed on his feet. Mighty followed him, attempting to repeat the same attack. Just before he curled into a ball again, however, Dark pulled out a pistol and shot madly at him - this was the first time Dark had ever attempted murder. A few of the bullets crashed into Mighty's hard shelled back. The last one punctured Mighty in his left arm.
"GYAAAH!! Son of a b....!" Mighty fell onto several hundred pieces of broken glass, clutching his wound. Dark aimed, but Rouge cam up behind and strangled the gun away from him. The two fought, and eventually Rouge kicked the gun away and Dark into a brick wall. Dark ricocheted off of the wall and into a spin, but Rouge managed to kick him in the head, knocking him out.
After everything had settled, Rouge approached Mighty. He was standing up, but still clutching his arm. "I'm okay! I'm okay...." he tried to explain, but Rouge approached and held his arm. She observed the bullet hole, and figured by the amount of blood that escaped that the bullet didn't go in too deep. She took the wound to her mouth and sucked gently. Mighty was surprised by Rouge's actions, and he liked the feeling. Several seconds later, a stinging sensation came to his arm. He cringed, and Rouge stopped sucking. She spit out the bullet into her hand.
Mighty clutched his arm again. "How... how did..." Rouge smirked. "I have my ways...." Taking off Mighty's left glove, she ripped it and used it to wrap around his wound tightly. Finally, Rouge said, "Let's go and take this hedgehog back to Station Square. He's been wanted for over a year now. He better enjoy his new home in prison..." She lifted Dark's body, tied him up, and handcuffed him to the backseat of her car.
On the way back to Station Square, Mighty was thinking about a lot of things. This mysterious black hedgehog... just who was he? He asked Rouge earlier, but she just said that he was a criminal. He also thought about Rouge, and her method of taking the bullet out of his arm. The sun was setting, and he fell asleep.
