Ironically, I'm (trying) to finish off the cult hit, Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja for the DS. And I'm asking myself, would there ever be a sequel? Izuna and her gang are back - and just in time for a wedding! Lured by the promise of free food (Why else would Izuna attend?), the festive event becomes a puzzling mystery when Izuna's sidekick Shino suddenly disappears, off in search of her long-lost sister. And making matters worse, the foreign gods have also arrived on Japanese soil, and they aren't very happy with the meddlesome, unemployed ninja. With disgruntled deities on the warpath, a sidekick to track down, and a missing sister out in the wild, it could all shape up to be one of Izuna's more exciting adventures. Sounds like a lot of work for a girl out of a job! Key Features: - Play hardcore with Izuna - Get in the action by combining down-and-dirty old-school dungeon RPG play with the cutest girl ninja ever, for a "stimulating" RPG experience. - TAG team system - Take any two party members into a dungeon for a greater range of combat strategy. Combine power to unleash fierce TAG attacks. - More Izuna than ever before - Get everything that made the original game a fan favorite, plus more! This bigger, better package includes more dungeons, items, enemies, characters, as well as a wacky new story, side quests, and TAG team system. Website: www.atlus.com/izuna2Website has a Izuna webcomic, like the first game.

Are we gonna die loads of times again like in the first one? And am I actually going to keep my weapons and items this time around? I got tired of losing items that I probably could have used.

Thanks to the tag system(that they ripped from Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon) you wont lose til both members are KO'ed. And I just read the Izuna webcomic and it seems that Izuna and Shino, as well as other characters from other Success and Atlus games are in Rondo of Swords, the new DS Tactical RPG. Ugh, now I want Rondo.

Having first heard of this series from this topic, I can say that it looks pretty cool. I always love a good dungeon crawler (Oddly enough, I just bought Children of Mana a few days ago), and humorous dialogue is never a bad thing. Hopefully I can afford/find the first game soon.

The problems I have with Izuna(you should get both sides here) is that its hard and if you die, you lose all cash and items on you. I've been grinding all day and finally reaches the boss once just to retreat. I'm on level 60+ and on the second to last dungeon. Tool me hours upon hours to get there. Also uses no DS functionality.
The game does have a in depth talisman system, you can attach or burn into weapons as well as normally use them or throw them at enemies for another effect. Attaching is dangerous because it can break weapons(weapons have so much use before it breaks) and there are traps hidden on the floor too.

Ah, thanks for the heads-up. That sounds pretty harsh...but it still looks like a good buy.

If you're buying Izuna 2, preorder it at Amazon. You get a poster with it and you (yes you!) gets to vote on it. 1 or 2? Vote for 1! Ugh when I was looking up this on Joystiq, I came across that GameStop is doing the same thing, but a totally different poster. Which to choose?

I like the style of the Gamestop poster more than the Amazon poster, but I'm too short on money to preorder it (Having just ordered the Orange Box and a Gamecube broadband modem). Hopefully I'll get some more money between now and July 22nd!

Can't you play on a private server with the GC still?

Yep. The server is over here, and it's fully compatible with every version of PSO, except for Episode III.

There's a special edition for Japan, nothing but nudity on that. Found the second game that Izuna and Shino cameo in (Rondo of Swords being the first). It's Windy X Windam, and what's awesome is that it's a fighting game for the DS. It's made by Success and Ninja Studio, the same for Izuna. So was Rondo, so let's hope we see Windy X Windam hit overseas. Either way, I'm getting it, I could use more for my(any everyone's) region free DS.
