For those who have my Gamertag on Xbox Live, you know that's my motto.
And it also means I'm knee deep in Phazon in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. As well as a bunch of games. Metroid though, is fantastic. Beautiful art work masks the fact the Wii isn't as powerful as the others, and believe me graphic does not make a game, the gameplay does. That's why we see Wii as #1 and PS3 as dead last. I'll get to that later. The game has tons of control customizations, great extra features, awesome boss fights and some of the best controls to land on this machine. This isn't gonna beat Halo or anything, but the Wii can do shooters and Retro Studios proved it. This is a must buy.
From the looks of it, Medal of Honor Heroes 2 is also looking to do the same thing. As much as I saw this game just as a PSP port ala Alien Syndrome; the exclusive features, the better visuals and the tight controls seems to be to the Wii as Call of Duty 2 was to Xbox 360, and that's bigger than you think.
Now earlier I made a zing at the PS3 earlier. Graphics mean NOTHING if the gameplay's shot. and even though it runs in 1080p and has 7.1 audio and all its visuals are grand and all that, the gameplay in Lair is complete garbage. Factor 5 made one of the GameCube's best third party titles (and on launch too) with Star Wars Rouge Squadron II, and with such great controls on a flight game like this, you would completely expect that the same team can do it again on a next gen system 6 years later. Nope. Ironic too, cause Warhawk came out this week and has better flight controls than Lair. If only it had a single player campaign and Warhawk would be the best game on the system.
Well enough on praising the Wii more than it needs to and enough on yet another piece of crap on PS3, it's Xbox 360 time! this week I was totally surprised when a game I thought the demo was OK exceeded some expectations and that's Dynasty Warriors Gundam. If you hate hack and slashes, ignore this gratitude I'm showing. If you like them, this game's one to check out. All I wish was that the camera was better, and I'd say that's minor, but it isn't. I need a X axis invert for this game.
Finally I beat Bioshock and it was great. Everything was great. 2K need a marvelous job on this game. Not much else to say on that. Other than for all current and future 360 owners to do themselves a favor and try it. Next is Blue Dragon. I have nothing on it since I haven't started it. I'll say something later.
So I go to Penny Arcade and in a surprising twist of fate, I was more excited on the ads tonite than the site. The comic was funny like normal and the greatness Penny Arcade shines once more, but I was just in awe seeing ads for 2 of my most annicipated RPG's next to each other. The incredible looking Eternal Sonata for the 360 and the remake of the kickass Disgaea on PSP.
Speaking of PSP, that new one's out soon. I want that video output. I wanna play Jeanne D'Arc and beat Gurumin!
And last the DS, I'm STILL addicted to Picross, and no I haven't beat all puzzles yet. They just keep unlocking!)
