Well, right now I'm typing this message in the Safari 3 beta on my PC, and I must say that is isn't that bad. I was surprised how fast it really was, I would reccomend downloading it to see how it is, but so far I like it. I have been using Opera 9 because Firefox was getting messed up.

I gave it a try. But for some reason, the new Tails Sliding Puzzle doesn't show it's background-image in it (although the older puzzles do). I hear it's pretty standards compliant though, so I'm hoping that it's not a beta bug, but something I can learn to correct. Edit: Problem solved. It was during last weekend's site update that I removed the old puzzle and replaced it with the beta. It turns out that I forgot to update a shared CSS file that had the path to the backgrond-image of the puzzle. it made reference to the beta directory, which was renamed. FireFox had the puzzle cached and thought nothing of it. So everything made a smooth transition out of the beta status after all. Not only have I tested it with Opera on the DS, but I'm glad I don't have to nag some Mac users and take their word when I want to test things in Safari now .

I wish I could try it out, but this is my parents' PC, and I am not allowed to install things without their permission, which I will probably never get because they are fine with IE and would probably see it as a waste since they already have an internet browser. but from the mac laptop my school lent me, I do know that safari was good, than Firefox except that I couldn't set the proxy settings, thus causing me to have to connect to my school's VPN to use it at home. With Firefox, I could set it to use a direct connection to the internet, thus bypassing their internet filter, allowing me to use it to come here.
Only problem I ever had with safari was that it forced all text input boxes to be white, ant one sit that had them meant to be transparent and had a black background, used white text in them. of course, this might have been changed in the new version.

Hmmm.. tried a version on a friends laptop, seems just the same as KDE's Konquerer browser to me, they even have the same technological level of compliance above just about every other browser. I prefer to use Firefox in a GNOME environment anyways due to its being really customizable unlike most other browsers ^^.
Supertails: If you have a flash drive you might want to try portable apps, with it you can run a copy of firefox on your parents PC without ever installing it .

Heh, I got an offer yesterday. But I thought people hated safari? Oh well, I can't install it anyway.

Meh, after using it for a few months I just switched back to FF. It's a lot better than IE, but at the same time it's not compatible with some things. I'd just stick to Fire Fox and Opera, they're still the best.
