This is the best Metal Gear that ever came out. I could not believe how many extras are in the 4 Disks that I got with it. If you want 100% of the content you first needed to preorder in a certain amount of time to receive the 1st Disk, a DVD called Metal Gear Saga Volume 1, a gift for preordering.
Metal Gear Saga Vol. 1 features an 30 minute in-depth documentary-style video feature that details the Metal Gear series’ epic narrative, from beginning to end. Spanning five games and just as many decades of fictional history, Metal Gear Saga ties together the game’s complex narrative in chronological order, from the 1960’s—with the heroic origins of Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater—to the cliffhanger conclusion of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, set in the early 21st century. It also has Trailers of Subsistence, MGAcid 2 and MGS4
Next you need the Limited Edition of Subsistence to get the remaining 3 disks, cause the regular version only has 2 of the 3.
Disk one in the actual pack is Subsistence, basically Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, the game itself. It has a new camera system making it feel like it's a new game. It feels totally fresh when playing it again.
Disk two is Persistence. This has most of the new stuff. It has the Online-only Multiplayer. There are 8 different matchtypes and too much to detail, just that all you need is an Ethernet cable and you're set. No fee, nothing you need(unless you don't have a network adapter), pop it in and you are all set. Persistence also has Duel mode, where you face the bosses anytime you want, featuring one of the most stunning battles in gaming history, going against The End. Snake vs. Monkey is back with more stages in this disk as well as Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake for the MSX, the beginning of this unbelievable gaming series. Finally the best for last on this disk, Special Theater. This contains gimmicky, hilarious, damn right funny movies of MGS3. Totally original, totally funny.
Third disk is Existence. This is the disk you cannot get if you didn't buy the Special Edition. This contains the MGS4 Trailer again, but it has one of the best things you could do with this game...
Watch the game as a movie.
This has all the cutscenes together, but it also has the gameplay in between animated so it doesn't feel cut up, and the bosses battle are cinimated wonderfully. This is great when playing it to a friend, Cold War buff, or needing to see the complex story to refresh with out the whole "playing the game."
This game is excellent as Snake Eater, but this game has more extras than any game you can think of and the LE was 40 bucks! Less than new crappy 360 games but more stuff than you can think of! The LE is 100% recommended and if you can't get it, the regular version works cause you can still see the cinematics separately in Disk 1, but it isn't well made like it is in Disk 3.
....Of course if you want the 4 Disks, eBay has it for like 150 if you're rich.
