This game looks like it might (MIGHT) be decent. The story look like it'll provide a lot of gameplay unless its very short like Heroes. Sonic Team is NOT making this game so we haveta see what Sega of America has to unleash here. Shadow is suppose to fight the GUN robots, Eggmans bots and aliens and he'll ride dragons and wtf other flying things. AGAIN the PS2 version is totally inferior to the GCN version! Bad frame rates and extremely bad texturing compared to Nintendo's version. Worse than Heroes I'm afraid PS2 owners (get a GCN for God's sake, you're a Sonic fan!) Remember my Sonic Timeline, well I got my work cut out for me seeing this crap and reverting it to a sensible reason.....
This game will be fast. Shadow accelerates very quick and only gets faster but since hes using hover shoes his brakes suck so be careful on how you run. You pick up guns from enemies and you can change them. If you remember Wind Waker, the spears and broadswords that Link can pick up after knocking sown an enemy, its like that.
This game looks like it won't suck, or at least not as much as us Sonic fans can take anymore. I loves the Adventure games and it looks like it'll take it in that direction. Now all we need is Sonic Adventure 3. I did hear the Xbox 360 is getting an exclusive Sonic game (I HOPE NOT). It was a tech demo from Sega for the 360, but so was Final Fantasy VII's first scene on the PS3, but its only a tech demo so don't flip yet. I'll give you the word to when it's official.

Oh, ffs. Stop it with the unique games for one console SEGA!! I already can't believe you didn't bring Sonic Adventure 2: Battle out on PS2.
PS2 itself isn't inferior to GCN, Marik. It's just harder to program for! WE shouldn't get GCNs because we're sonic fans... SEGA should work harder because we're sonic fans. If there's EVER a reason for a game to made unique to one system, it should be for the PS2. I DO see your point, however, and I'm certainly considering betraying Sony... until the PS3 comes out then all the other systems can go to hell! If you say its worse than Heroes... I'll buy the PC/GCN version when it comes out!!
WHY did they include guns in the game? NO ONE I have asked has liked that idea...
Oh, how much gameplay is there for Tails? I can assume they short-changed him again. HE should be the one with his own game, darnit! Oh, and instead of just giving us the word when its official, can you also give Sega a word or so? Something that rhymes with Tankard springs to mind.

Heroes and Shadow are horrible on the PS2! the framerate is terrible and in Heroes, texturing sucks! I played Hereos on all 3 systems, the PS2 version is obviously bad. On G4, they said Shadow's PS2 version is even more obvious on inferiority than Heroes was!

I played Heroes on the X-box, and was pretty amazed... (So was the kid behind me when I owned the level with 74000 points ;D ) When you play the 2player version of levels, there's more detail (On the ps2 version), but it lags like HELL! The framerate drops dramatically. But NORMALLY, that level of detail is present without the lag on the X-Box!! BTW, I'd just like to say again: EVEN ON PS2 HEROES IS A GOOD GAME. Not being the best doesn't automatically make it bad.

The Dreamcast had a better framerate than the PS2, when you make a Sonic game it has to be fast and has to be handled with a fast framerate. The Dreamcast, Xbox and GameCube are very superior in framerate. The PS2 is horrible in handling a Sonic game

The PS2 will also break if you tap it.
But this new game that is coming out isn't all that good from what I've seen and heard. well don't get me wrong, shadow looks cool carrying around guns. But i feel like it won't be up to my expectations. ... then again, that's just me talking

Was watching X-Play and they previewed Shadow and I don't like it again.
Shadow has amnesia.... again. He need to regain his memory by collecting emeralds(Chaos? dunno)
It's 50 years after Adventure 2(and Sonic is in it as normal?)
Shadow is teleported to a alien planet and someone wants to take it over.... surprise. But you can team up with enemies or kill them.

Don't you love it when X Play is so honest about games. I think the only cool part was that it had some of the old sonic stuff like running around in loops and stuff. But honestly, it doesn't seem that great.
and why does shadow have guns that are bigger than him? i know he's short and all, but is really that short?

they looked kinda big when i saw the X Play review. ... I don't think I'm fond of this whole strategy thing going on either. But who am I to complain. Maybe I'll like it. Maybe....

It takes place 50 years after SA2, yet Sonic is in it? Sounds wierd to me, but I guess we'll have to wait and see where they go with it.

That does sound weird. Unless everyone else is a clone! #_# That'd be too much for me. Besides, I don't really want to know until this game comes out.

It seems like you can access most of the info on the Shadow game at the official site... y'know, all of the general facts, and screenshots, as well as some movies. As a little reassurance, the Q&A says, I'd encourage you to read the full Q&A if you're curious about how they're approaching the game. It's quite intriguing... a tad scary at times, but hopeful. I guess if you're looking for specific plot details though, you'd have to look elsewhere. So, about the 50 years thing... me and some others are feeling pretty sure that it's just 50 years after the ARK incident.

I don't know. But this whole 50 years thing totally confuses me. Then again, I'm not really surprised that Sonic is in the game. It's like these characters get younger or they just don't change. I mean, look at Sonic Heroes. They were all younger in that game than they were in the Sonic Adventures.

Well in Heroes Knuckles is older(16, was 15) and Sonic is younger(15, was 16)....

And Amy, who was 16 in Sonic Adventure, suddenly became twelve. So I give up trying to figure out the whole age thing

She's been 12 in every game since Adventure. She was 8 in Sonic CD, R and Fighters. Dammit I hate it that no one can keep up ages on these Characters! You heard Sonic's, Knux's(look at my last post) and Amy's here's so hear the rest!
Tails 8, Cream 6, Rouge 17, Big 18, Espio 16, Charmy 6, Vector 20, Tikal 14, Pachacamac 52. Shadow and Eggman, Vanilla, Chaos and the robots are either unknown, new or who gives a damn. There is NO OFFICIAL AGE. And since Nack, Mighty, Bark, Bean, Ray, etc havent been seen since before the Dreamcast, they haven't been given official ages(back then the main 4 was all we knew then). Back then... Sonic was 15, Tails was 4 and three quarters, Knuckles was 15 and Amy was 8.
Want to argue with it? If you're one of the people that want to argue using the comic, get over yourself, SatAM isn't the real Sonic. Tails isnt 11 like he is now in the comic.(If you read it, when Sonic returned from space, it's 1 year later so Tails' former 10 age is now 11) You want proof on these ages? The Official Sonic Adventure Strategy Guide from 1999 shows full profile and The Heroes instruction booklet and Strategy Guide tells us our current age which screwed up Sonic and Knuckles' age. I get pissed when ages are wrong, the same with height and weight(which I also have for the main characters. Sonic X shows their profile in Japanese episodes and they're metric so do the math yourself.)
