The avators effects look fine to me in 1024x768 (I have 1003x549 pixels viewable in a maximized but not full screen window). So if you get horizontal scrollbars or think it's too big, you may want to vote for Option 3 or Option 4.
Option 3: The card effects will be disabled if your screen resolution won't fit it.
Option 4: Same as 3, but it could be enabled by a keyword system (such as typing a ~ anywhere in your avator text or something). But disabled by default.
I don't think there's been any problems with users in 1024x768 and higher, so speak now.

I like them. I really do. its just that, they do seem a little big with my computer size.

1152x864 is my resolution.
The cards look good for me. if you wanna know why its so big, i just couldnt find another way to get enough shortcuts on my desktop.
