I took this from a forum I was browsing.
Title says it all. What are some games that you love that everyone else hates? Whether it's critics, or just your circle of friends, what games do you love that other people would just want to stick in a microwave?
Here are some of mine.
Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII- (PS2): I really like this game! I thought it was a lot of fun to play, and the story was pretty good, too. I guess one of the reasons I liked it a lot, other than my rabid FF7 fanboyism, is that I forgot to do the Waterfall sidequest in FF7, and therefore missed out on Vincent's entire past. While everyone said that a lot of DoC was repetition of things we already knew, it was all fresh for me.
Star Fox Adventures (GCN): Yeah, it doesn't have classic Star Fox gameplay, but I think it was a lot of fun, nonetheless. I loved the Zelda style gameplay, and I thought the story was really cool. Not to mention the great graphics, I absolutely adored some of the areas in this game. It might have just been a port of a completely unrelated N64 game, but I think it deserves its place in the Star Fox series.
Defender (GCN): For some reason, I like this game. It's a pretty nice shooter, and I liked the addition of rescuable humans and tanks. It doesn't exactly have the best story in shooters (Well, the idea of humanity being pushed out to Pluto, and having to claw their way back to Earth is pretty interesting), but it's good enough to keep me going. I've never regretted getting this game, it's more fun than the original arcade game (Then again, I've been spoiled on Gradius, R-Type, Ikaruga, etc.).
Perfect Dark Zero (X360): I originally thought it was a pretty mediocre game, and in a way it is; it's certainly not as good as the original Perfect Dark. But, a few weeks ago I was going through my games, looking for which ones to sell, and I played this to see whether to sell it or not. The single player mode is a LOT of fun, even when the multiplayer is pretty "meh". I haven't seen much of the story yet, since I haven't played much of it, but it's fun enough for me to go through it.
I'll try to think of more later on.
