I really do apologize for me taking an un-noted leave of absense here, I just had some IRL stuff that I had to deal with. Work load was getting a bit extreme, and, combined with me turning into a goto guy for anything technical (or, more recently, psychology issues that people didn't want being spread around), combined with Marching Band and such, pretty much ate away at my time.
Well if there was only one major event that I could pick between now and back then, I would say that it would have to be when Gov. Jodi Rell came with the Ambassador of Ireland, Tom Foley, to see the local Ancient Order of Hibernians division here. Since I have contacts in the division, I was able to actually meet with them. Things like that don't happen on a daily basis.
Anyway, I'll try to pay more attention to the TAMB. Feel free to post under here, this isn't just an admin board, ya know!

Ooh, marching band, eh? What's your position? I'm an equipment manager with mine, though I really should have joined earlier, but that's another story altogether.

I'm a marimba-ist, in the pit up front. I'm pretty much related to the marching band in name only; I don't do any actual marching (but lugging that equipment does constitute physical strain).

Yeah, me too. As equipment manager, I don't go to any of the practices, I only show up at games and competitions, and even then, I just hand out plumes at competitions and wheel out the pit equipment. Actually, there's another manager, but she doesn't do anything at all, she just wants her name on the MB shirt, and a lot of the band hate her. As can be expected, they love me.
Still, I love doing it, and I wish I could have gotten into it earlier in my high school career.
