Yes it's that good ol' time to see what's in store for the game industry this year. Starts off with the great Press Conferences (Which are showing live on G4 and various game sites like IGN or GameSpot)
I'll give out some info on this thread, only the big things and things I care about. Anyone else can chime in as well. This will be the E3 thread though.
To start things off, Sony came in swinging with the PS3's price drop. The 60GB model is now $499 and they're also making a new $599 one with a 80GB HDD and a copy of MotorStorm to boot. BUT! This thing ain't the PS3 you knew. The hardware's different. First that would piss anyone off is the 80GB one is built like the European model, which has no Emotion Engine. The Emotion Engine is the chip that allows 100% backwards compatibility with PS1 and 2 games. The Japanese and American models had them while the Euro one didn't. Instead, they're going the Microsoft route with emulation software, which means only like 80% of the games will work now instead of 100%.
What also pisses me off is that I bought the system last month.
Well E3 will start tomorrow night at around midnight over at the East Coast with Microsoft's Press Conference. Nintendo's is around noon and Sony's is two hours later. I'll continue then.
As for me, I beat Tenchu Z (not bad, but not $60 worthy), while I got rid of Pokemon Battle Revolution and Hoshigami Remix. Pokemon was such a waste of money, but I did love the customizable trainer. All Pokemon games need that. I should love Hoshigami, but there's so much wrong with it. No voice make it boring(That's why I hate Tales of Destiny), also the controls are awkward, with the D-pad and touch screen. Everything need a confirmation too. Can't just move you must select and say yea to confirm and continue, those little things piss me off. Also the game is hard as hell. It's BRUTAL. On the nice side the attacks are cool, everything animates well and it's good looking.
Later this week I'll rent out Project Sylpheed for the 360. I'll be also continuing Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Pokemon Diamond and Super Paper Mario. Looks like Mario Strikers is the next game I'm getting, nothing this month. Lair, Metroid Prime 3, Blue Dragon and Warhawk are all next month though!
Also bought the Special Edition of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Awesome box! Well worth it.
Also I won't be here to end the E3 coverage, on Friday, I'm on vacation for the weekend. I'm going to ConnectiCon in Hartford.

Microsoft: Very impressive press conference, but no surprises. MS focused on 2007 only with one exception: a trailer to Resident Evil 5. Microsoft wanted everyone to know that this holiday season is HUGE for them this year. A new Viva Pinata, labeled Party Animals. Games for Windows is gettin Gears and the original Viva Pinata. Gears with 5 new chapters, new boss fight and a new multiplayer mode, so the 100,000 PC players playing this will get the good content while the 3 million+ owners of the game for 360 gets no new stuff. Lost Odyssey is coming this year though! GTA is getting episodic content only on 360. Games for Windows is getting stronger. Sonic and Golden Axe as well as bunch of Disney movies hit the Xbox Live Marketplace.
I was watching this through G4 and I liked the quality you can't for free via streaming online, but something happened that PISSED me and I bet more people off, commercials. A lot of them. If you watched it via G4 you missed the trailers to Viva Pinata Party Animals, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey and a few more trailers as well as the Viva Pinata announcement on PC. AS WELL AS CUT OFF THE HALO 3 TRAILER IN THE END! Luckily I'm near a PC on my TV so I streamed through GameSpot, so I saw mostly everything anyway, but the 2 weren't synced, G4 was a minute ahead do I still missed some trailers.
I don't think I was the only one that thought the RE5 trailer was Metal Gear 4, it started in a wasteland like Metal Gear would of. Pissed me off that it was RE5, but glad RE5 had something to show.
Assassin's Creed was shown during gameplay and I want it now. As well as Halo 3.

First of all...
Good man! It's my favorite anime series.
On topic: Wasn't E3 supposed to be a thing of the past, or did I just miss a news post somewhere? Anyway, I guess there wasn't too much new stuff on Microsoft's front according to your post there, Marik, (Which sucks, since I finally bought a 360 recently), but I'm hoping Nintendo's got a few surprises up their sleeves. I'm pissed that there wasn't any information on Indiana Jones 2007, though, I had hoped they would release some more info, since all we got is an alpha trailer.

This is the new E3, the big press conf are still here(the best part) but the show floor is incredibly small.
Nintendo:
Smash Bros: December 3rd Mario Galaxy: November 12th Mario Kart Wii: Early 2008, completely online, racing and battle mode. New Nintendo made Wheel attachment bundled with it. WiiFit: an awesome fitness game that uses a balancing board. The shift of gravity from leaning around and stepping on and off it. No price or date. Wii Zapper and Uzi-like light gun attachment. Used for Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles and Ghost Squad as well as Nintendo making one. $20. Nintendo gloats about being market leader.
Sony: Metal Gear 4: Early 2008: Raiden fights Vamp. Demo next week at Konami's little party. Unreal Tournament 3 PC 2007, PS3/360 version 2008. PS3 VERSION CAN UPLOAD PC MODS!!! PSP remake, same thing but lighter, better battery, a bit smaller, better load times and dammit it for me buying one now cause it has VIDEO OUTPUT TO TV. Standard def and high def. Silver version too. In October for $200. NCSoft making PS3 exclusive MMORPGS. Hence the S on end. Haze PS3 Exclusive in 2007, PC/360 in 2008. Gran Turismo 5 Download only. Killzone 2 looks BEAUTIFUL. in 2008. Rock Band is apparently awesome.
Konami had one too(only 15 minutes long): Silent Hill 5 PS3/360 bound in 2008. DDR Hottest Party for Wii, SuperNova 2 for PS2 and Universe 2 for 360. Wii one uses motion and dancing. Contra 4 for DS, we knew that. Same Metal Gear trailer from Sony.

Umm, I miss the old E3, they announced more that 3 or 4 big things. Or maybe there just isn't much to announce this year, I don't know, this year seemed a little empty to me.
Oh, the new PSP looks the same as the old one...

Outside the awesome Press Conferences: Mario Party DS, Advance Wars DS, Professor Layton, DS Magic announced. Blue Dragon, Ace Combat 6 demos up on Live Marketplace! Metal Gear Trailer on PS Network, seems it's PS3 exclusive.... I'll buy it and a month later it's 360 bound, that's my luck with Sony now. PS3 price drop right after buying it, PSP redesign after I buy it. Those pricks. New Sly Cooper for PS3. Hate that series. Top Spin 3 announced. Since Microsoft didn't show off Devil May Cry 4 as part of their 2007 games only conference, seems like it's 2008 with Fable 2. 360 keyboard attachment for the controller in September for $30. Wii will have 100 more games this year, DS will have 140 more and PSP will have 140 more. Soulcalibur Legends (Yes it's now one word): Is the definitive hardcore gamer's game for Wii.
My Speculation so far: Sonic's only $5 in High Def for Xbox 360.... yet $8 for Wii in Standard def? When Nintendo said they're online with gaming and such, they mentioned Mario Strikers and Pokemon and Mario Kart for Wii, but not Battalion Wars 2 and especially Smash Bros.....

Also, Microsoft's pretty good, they had the most entertaining Conference. Nintendo was the most boring. Microsoft's conference was great really, That was only 2007 games! That's an awesome lineup! 2008 has Fable, DMC4, Halo Wars and more!!! True it looks the same, but Video output is awesome. I like that the PSP looks the same and acts the same, so it doesn't make the DS look bad. The bad part is what makes it good! Also these press Conf are the best, but also not the only news. The convention just started! Other than that..... The Limited Edition Halo 3 Xbox 360 has an HDMI port..... but the 20GB HD? GOLDEN SUN DS! Nyko raised the price of the Wii Charge Station from $30 to $35.

Ahh, I'm so happy they're making another Advance Wars, I can't wait to see what they're going to do with it. And another Golden Sun, too! I only played a little of the first one, but it looked really good. What's next, Metroid Dread?
