I couldn't title this one cause I didn't know what to focus on. When you read this, you'll see there's an equal amount of crap I gotta get off my chest.
1) The arcadic MLB installment, The Bigs, hit the Wii, Xbox 360, PS2, PSP, and PS3 and I'm no sports fan myself. What I am a fan of is marketing in gaming. First thing is that it's cool that Best Buy has a different cover on the box. For sports games, that's a smart move. Now let's focus on the Wii version here and how to not do boxart on a Wii version of a game (About damn time 2K Sports decided to do a version on a Nintendo console).
Now I wish there was a picture that I could use to show you why I'm pissed about the Wii version's boxart. I spoke about being a big fan of consistency in video game boxart ala DVD series' boxart. The Wii took that a step towards awesome consistency. Nintendo made it so all Wii boxart had to be fashioned with a white spine. If you dunno what a Spine is on a DVD case, it's the thin side that's labeled. Here's an example with my own Wii collection(updated too!):

Back to The Bigs. Here's the problem. You see this Wii collection is all white backgrounds with the logo of respected game. The Bigs is a black spine. That PISSED me off seeing that. Is this a start of complete inconsistency? The GCN has a set way too at the beginning with Nintendo's titles with a fixed font: Luigi's mansion, Smash Bros, Mario Sunshine had the same font. Nintendo then threw the idea out the window and used logos. Will third party's do the same and not use a white spine? They better keep the white spines. Might sound like nothing to complain about, but people in game marketing aren't really looking at the little things.
On another note on Wii cases, I recently learned that if you open a Wii case, you see on the inside's spine, there are clips for multiple disked games. That is right and wrong. It's dual purposed. It's also a SD memory card holder for 2 SD cards.
2) Please do yourself a favor as a Sonic fan and watch this video on YouTube, then come back here to continue reading:

Now you did two things, first is that you basically ignored me and kept reading, Or God forbid you watched it. If you chose the latter, you have just wasted 3.5 minutes of your life watching a Sonic, Nintendo or Smash Bros fanboy pretending to be Phoenix Wright by scrolling text about common sense speculation. Why did I bring this up? Because I'm a bigger Sonic/Nintendo/Smash Bros fanboy and I love being a bitch about it. First the quotes he used. Using Shigeru Miyamoto quotes it roughly useless, even though he's associated with the game, he's not really a part of the game's development. That's job's for Masahiro Sakurai, the director. A quote from Yuji Naka? Doesn't help since he's not in Sega anymore(which he states). His only basis is Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. This is only a rant from this guy, with his proof being that because of Mario & Sonic and that its made, that and I quote, "So, who's to say that they won't both agree to put Sonic in Brawl?" That's not proof, its more speculation. Now it's cool that he's excited to see a "90% chance" of Sonic in Brawl, but to rant about it on YouTube like that isn't needed, in fact it's dumb. Plus he didn't even point out an obvious point toward a chance for Sonic in Brawl. And that's with Solid Snake being in the game also. That might sound like a dumb thing to miss, but watching this guy stroll on with dumb speculation, you would think he'd mention every dumb piece of speculation with "Snake's in it so other third parties can put characters in too" I swear that Masahiro Sakurai has to update be confirming or denying Sonic cause I can't take dumb crap like this everyday.
3) You want Smash Bros Speculation? Here's a decent one. Monday, the site was updated with the addition of Princess Zelda. Now people will brush her off saying "She'll be the same from Melee." If they're being accurate with their characters, She can't. Why? This is Twilight Princess Zelda, not Ocarina of Time Zelda. Key difference: No Twilight Princess rendition of Shiek. She can't transform to Shiek if there was no Shiek. What I was disappointed to see was that this Zelda didn't have a sword. Zelda has a sword in Twilight Princess.
Ok I'm sick of talking. You talk now.
