...Had to be replaced at least once. I'm on my fourth 360 in 1.5 years, 2nd PS3 in 1.5 weeks and 2nd Wii in 7 months. I never touched the PS3 really so I dunno about transfering data, but wow, what a pain in the ass to transfer Wii data. I have to play the game, exit and then transfer data. Lost the 2 VC games I cared about, Mario 64 and Gunstar Heroes(I really don't feel like rebuying them), as well as the nontransferable Metal Slug Anthology data. Also have to have a new Wii code. 360 is easy as hell thanks to the removable HDD.
Out of the blue, I really like a game: Scarface on Wii. Really recommend it. Extremely vulgar, violent and fun. Another great Wii remake. Can't wait for RE4, only a few more days!!
Also I'll be attending ConnectiCon for three days in July, anyone local to the area should def attend, it is fun to go to even for only Saturday.

Why did you have to get new consoles?

I think I was pretty lucky. The only console that I've ever had to replace was the Playstation 2 (Yes, Two), and that was because the disc drive didn't read anything. Then again, after ~a year, the replacement only read one game, Ace Combat 04.
However, I've replaced the mic that comes with the 360 twice. The first time, it was cutting out randomly, and creating static (and eventually broke apart). The second still does it from time to time, but not as badly. It's times like this that I wished that I just bought any mic that works with phones rather than "XBox 360 certified" (or whatever the terminology is).

Let's see...
Xbox 360 1 started freezing on the last part of Gears of War, then froze on the startup screen, of course Sonic came out then and I really wanted to play it (damn was I dumb). It was sent out to Microsoft, which was replaced with a new console. The new console (360 2) that was sent to me. I did the system update and it bricked it. So I went to work and replaced it. Then that one (360 3) did the same as the first one did. It was replaced again.
The PS3 had a broken A/V port which had crappy video and buzzing on the audio. The Wii had video problems. Dots everywhere and they switch up during gameplay.

Wow, you seem to have bad luck with consoles, I've never had anything like that happen to me.

Always get a Product Replacement Plan. 50 bucks is a lot better than another $400. Don't get yours refurbished, get a new one so you won't keep a machine than was once broken. Just use these tips:
With 360- ALWAYS keep your original Hard Drive (unless that was the problem). Pop your old Hard Drive to a new console and turn it on. That simple. You continue on like you did before the first one died.
With Wii- Nintendo does do a decent refurb job. They let you keep your VC games that way. If you're like me and are impatient, BUY A SD CARD. Copy game save data and when you get your new system. Pop all your games in and out, don't create a save file (Delete any new ones that happen automatically, Sonic's one of them). Then transfer all the data you can and keep any you can't (you might not have the game) leave it on the SD card. This other way loses all VC games. But linking the My Nintendo account is easy since it'll void it on the old console.
With PS3 (60GB model)- Same with Wii, but PS3 has more options. Get either a SD card, CF card or Pro duo stick, dump as much as you can and throw it on the new system. With PS3 20 GB model, you're screwed cause of the lack of memory card slots.

D: Do you know what I should do? My Wii has it's own stupid problem. Memory card slot A for the gamecube broke somehow and now I can't play my gamecube games. I thought it was my memory card, but I checked card slot B and it worked.

Well, you could take it apart, but I'd just call Nintendo.

Send it to Nintendo when you feel like it. It seems like nothing truly urgent, unless you're focused on one now. If you don't have any upcoming Wii games you're dying for at the moment, send it then.

I've never had many problems with my Gamecube. only problems have been error screens popping up at least twice a week, occasional failure to read a disk (always been able to fix it though), and freezing while loading a movie in Shadow the Hedgehog. Handhelds, on the other hand, I had the d-pad become half-unresponsive (down and left) on my original GBA. the R-button become unresponsive on my SP. and my DS's touch screen is mis-calibrated and won't calibrate (I touch the dot the third time and it just goes back to the first position). unfortunately, my DS was bought off Ebay (along with five games), thus the warenty is voided.
