There should be exceptions for this. Like on the Fanfic board, where some people (including myself) don't want to wait for feedback before posting another chapter. Same goes with the Fanart board, except with images, not chapters.
Just a thought.

But that just seems like a way of bypassing the rule. Like cheating or something. It doesn't feel entirely right.

I do not see any reason why they couldn't double post on stuff like that. I say that the Fan Stuff section of this board should be aloud to do that as long as you are posting another pic or another chapter. But really I think only XFox can give the go ahead on that.

I'm starting to think the whole fanfiction board and some others were a bad idea. One of many things always happen: - Topics asking for ideas or people to do everything for them.
- Posting or advertising other people's fanfics
- Content violating the rules
- Someone postis 5 or so times in a row, ensuring that someone who comes along won't even bother to read the big block of mess. And then there's more posts added on such as "Isn't anyone going to reply?"
If we were to allow double posting, things would become out of control within days. Take this into consideration: - Bad posts usually get bad replies
- An intelligent topic brings intelligent posts (and posters! )
So what can you do instead of double posting? If you are uncertain on what yto say in your post, then maybe you shouldn't post it yet. It's the first impression that keeps a topic's interest. Sometimes it's not the topic that people don't find interesting, it's the way someone brought it up. Don't hold back on your posts. Always double check for spelling errors. This will increase your chances of getting a reply. And if you don't get a reply, you'll likely feel less regret than if you started a spam topic. And likewise, if you don't have enough to say in a reply to a topic, then you shouldn't post it yet. Save it up. Watch the topic for awhile and maybe you'll find something to say as it grows.

I think a fanfic should count as 1 big post anyway it shouldnt take several posts for one story. And if you have 2 stories in a row, create a new topic.

I think with the FanArt if they have new pics for people to see they should add it to the first post. Example: This way when people look at the topic, the links will be on the first post so they do not have to go looking for the link. Plus this will cut down on double posting and people will not miss a pic then.

Well... I see a flaw in your theory. Proboards only allows 10,000 characters in a single post. So, a really long story or a lot of pics would not be able to be posted correctly. So, what are you saying? We should limit our creativity because you think double posting is bad for the forum?

[glow=green,2,300]I know this is double posting, but this is to bump and give info. You can merge the two posts if you want, I don't really care. There's a code that disables the reply or submit button if you made the last post on a topic. It's in the headers of my forum (seen in my sig), but I've never tested it out, so I'm not sure if it really works or not.[/glow]
