The board seems kinda slow these past few days. So, I figure I'll put up some japanese lessons to add something new to the board. Unfortunately, I tried doing this just a short while ago, but half my house lost power, so whatever I had written down earlier is gone, and now I gotta do it all over again. But s'okay cause we're learning japanese for Christmas and New Year's!
Merry Kurisumasu! - a simple and easy saying. It's just how the Japanese say "Merry Christmas!"
Akahana no tonakai- Reindeer with the red nose. ... It's alot easier to just say Rudolph, I think.
Oomisoka- New Year's Eve
Jyo-ya no Kane- New Year's Eve Bell. Although it actually means "The bell that excludes the old year's night."
Otoshidama- New Year's Present
Otoshi-dama arigatou- Thank you for the Otoshidama.
Gantan- The first day of the New Year
And now, something long to learn: Shin-nen akemacrape omedetou gozaimasu. Kotoshi mo yoroshiku oneigaishimasu.- I welcome you to the New Year. I will be depending upon your generosity this (new) year also.
And so, that concludes my lesson... at least until Valentine's Day.

Nice lesson, but I'll probably end up forgetting it in ~10 minutes (been real busy with holiday prep).

Gomenasai. I want to put up more japanese lessons, but I don't know what to post, and it's too soon for Valentine's. Okay, let's do this then:
Inu: dog wan-chan: puppy neko: cat neko-chan: kitty orochi: snake tori: bird tora: tiger corogi: i think cricket.. or was it cockaroach? nope. cricket lacco: otter
and that's my animals for now! i'm gonna have to fish out my little book of all the japanese words i write in it. otherwise, i'll never be able to put up enough stuff
