all of the examples above work. They are for html, not the board. I think I confused you a little Sonik8190. You see, <img> and <img /> are the same thing. According to the new XHTML standard, all tags must be lowercase and they all must end properly. That means tags that don't normally end must have a / inside them to end them (better to learn the right way for sake of good habit).

The answers I give here only apply to editing a site's HTML source and has nothing to do with questions about the board. Making an image in HTML and making one on the board are 2 different things.

Now, if you're going to MAKE an image, instead of post it up, you just grab MSPaint, or Photoshop, or Paintshop, or another free or expensive graphics program and start drawing...MSPaint is how I've made all my graphics, since I can't afford anything else('cept that freebie ). But I'm looking into US$60 Adobe Photoshop Essentials. : ;D I myself only code in HTML, although perhaps someday I'll sit down with an XML rules guide and write my own DTD(Document.Type.Definition). Hm, what shall I call it? MTIVOTXML My.Totally.Idiotic.Version.Of.The.xTensible.Mark-up.Language Or maybe not...

The 'DTD's are a pain to remember. I don't really know what they are for (doesn't seem to make a difference at the time). I just pick a random one and copy and paste. The rest of the XHTML rules are alot simpler. It really isn't much different from the standard HTML 4.0 that we know. Some simple rules are: - All tags and attributesmust be lowercase (may be a hard habit to break). Most "Page Builders" and ad generators don't seem to follow this rule.
- All tag attributes must be quoted
- All tags must end (tags like <img> that don't normally end get a / in it like <img /> or <br />).
- All tags must be nested properly. This means all tags must end in the opposite order that they start (the most recent open tag ends first, then the next, and so on)
- the "name" attribute isn't recognized in XHTML (they want you to use ID instead). Of course there's still backwards compatibility though (for how long?).
Those are the basics. It's good to learn the good habits as soon as possible. It's not as hard as it looks if you. In Theory, XHTML will be replacing HTML someday. The changes XHTML has does not render the page incompatible with HTML, it's works in both. But I've yet to see XHTML really used anywhere.

DTDs are complicated tho, I didn't understand an "explanation" of them in XML for Dummies at all...

I'm just going to be a little sarcastic with the topic question. To make an image you 1)think of one 2)draw it
