Ah, PSU. The sequel to the infamous Phantasy Star Online. I just rented the game, and played it for a few hours. I have to say, it's a bit of a disappointment. The controls take getting used to, especially just for using the camera. Now, combat is good, I like the lock-on feature, but you can't use it with the handgun, which practically defeats the purpose. I haven't gotten far enough in the game to get some more techs other than the Rising Slash, but that's pretty good.
The acting in this game isn't too good, well, at least to me. I can't play online due to the fact that you have to pay money to play, which I've always hated. Besides, my parents hate buying things online. Good God, I've gotta get a debit card.
This is coming from a guy who used to play PSO all the time. PSU is a good game, but I just prefer PSO. Ironically, most of my friends don't like it.

I started it, it's fun and it's better than PSO, but with the thousands I see pass me by as I sit on this bench, there's really no one to play with, everyone sucks. The game's beautiful, looks amazing. The thing I don't like is that weapon customization is way to complex, also there's 3 corporations that make different weapons so you have to city hop to shop. My friend and I started playing together and I was really having fun, but I go to work today and come back to see he's up 6 levels and teamed up with some serious crowd, now I'm all alone in an online game.... This is the reason I haven't posted in days, that and huge shifts at work.
Another stupid thing I learned. PSU for the PC has no CD key. It's already pirated...
BTW, Which version do you have, cause if it's the 360 version, I'll join up with you. If not, then I really can't, the 360 has their own servers unlike the other 2. If you played the PS2 version, I understand why you hate it, that version sucks. I understand why people goto the PC version, but I believe it shines on the Xbox 360.

I'm playing the PS2 version. I am going to buy a 360 if I get a job at my local Gamestop in late November. Just for the record, my Gamertag is probably going to be "Timecrash".

SEGA PC in Japan gave PSU a CD Key, its just the EU and US versions that don't have a CD Key, its probably part of SEGA's ingenious "Western Market Plan" For PSU that plan includes making the game easy to pirate so everyone pays for online GUARDIANS LICENSE's. Personally I love the game tons more then PSO, and People on the PC/PS2 servers are friendly.
On another note, all PSU updates will be posted on 1up before SEGA's PSU US site

I haven't played online yet. Which I hope to someday. Then when I do, I hope I can join up with some of the people here on the board. Oh yeah, a word of advice, if you can't get anyone to play with you, make a cute girl character that is looking for someone to help her because she is new. I do that on a lot of other online games except for ragnarok because people chase me around because i'm a sinx.
I do like the game better than PSO. But now that I've beaten the game, I feel like there is nothing left for me to do. Which is one reason why I want to play online. I kinda wish Extra Mode had a plot of its own instead of just running around to level. And it gets boring when there are no npc's to talk to. i do like the variety of combinations you can have when creating your own character. I like that a bit more in this game. And I like how your partner machine can help you a bit more in this game than in PSO. But don't get me wrong. I still like PSO.
