I know a lot of people are very pissed at the merger between Sega and Sammy:
> You're bummed about Sonic Team being no more - As of June 1, all of Sega's studios' buisness operations were transferred over to the Sega Corporation. But the group of people who were Sonic Team are still going to carry that title, so maybe you'll pick up a Sonic game in the near future, and it would say "made by the Sonic Team division of Sega Studios" EDIT: Turns out that Sonic Team is going to stay, all other Sega developers have lost their names/identities except for Sonic Team.
> This all sounds very horrible - well it does because Sega is one of the world's most-loved and recognized publishers. But thats just from the consumer/fan viewpoint. From a corporate viewpoint, its great. Sega is in serious need of money, and Sammy is sitting on a pile of gold. Plus both companies have had relations with one another before the merger and the earlier failed merger. > People hate the logo - I know it looks ugly and capitalistic, but that is the corporate logo; doesn't exactly mean its going on the game packaging. I can back this up by the fact that Take-Two Interactive is the parent company of Rockstar Games, however you don't see the T2 logo on the box of a game by Rockstar.
Speaking of T2 Interactive, Sega recently signed a deal with them to co-publish sports games. This all sounds strange, Sega is teaming up with another leading publisher whilst going through with a giant merger with another one.
Sega has tried to merge with Sammy before, and was very close to completing the merger until it was called off at the last minute. In a way, it sounds like Sega has plans with T2 which are more than just some co-publishing agreement. I'm not saying:
> Sega will dump Sammy again in favor of merging with T2
> Sega-Sammy will buy T2 after the completed merger
I'm not saying any of that will happen. But it sure sounds kinda like it, eh? Still very unlikely, as T2 has ties with Capcom to translate/publish GTA in Japan.

I can back this up by the fact that Take-Two Interactive is the parent company of Rockstar Games, however you don't see the T2 logo on the box of a game by Rockstar. And the cat-ninja strikes back! Sonic Team did part away from Sega for a little bit of item. Hoping to join up with another company. Rumours had it that Nintendo was going to pick them up, but that didn't happen. After no options were left, Sonic Team had no choice but to go back to Sega. Sammy was never on top of a money pile. I have studied the history of Sammy. It wasn't until Sega became desperate enough that this happened. Sammy has a really bad past. Don't believe me. I am a skilled information gatherer... one way or another. I still crack into databases to get the truth. Sega has always used their corporate logo in games ever sense the Genisis. Its not the fact that I think it is ugly (and it is), but it is breaking a tradition that has been held for so many years. If I am not mistaken, its 15 years now. All of a sudden its changed. Its sad to see a tradition like that. Something that people of all ages have grown used to... and love, just to go away like that. Only people who really wont know about this are todays youngest of video game players. They are too young to know all about Sega and what is happening. They probably think Sega is new until someone tells them. Im not speaking out from my opinion. I am speaking from the opinons that I have gathered from so many people. Orin being one of them. I have searched through so many websites, getting peoples thoughts. They say that its breaking a tradition that shouldnt be broken. Now from my point, this hurts me bad... becuase I still have a strong connection to Sega. They haven't forgotten the ultimate "Cracking Job" My team played on them. Also, my grandfather was really fimiliar with Sega. I met Yuji Naka and several other important people at Sega and Nintendo. I have a connection to them. And its so sad to see it broken like this. It hurts badly ya know? It was a failed merger in the past becuase Sega ranked in the money that they needed. Companies only attempt mergers when they or another company is in fincial trouble. Its like that with every companie and business. Its no different with Sega and Sammy. Sega needed to get money. Sammy recently did something (don't know what though) to get the money. Sega saw the PERFECT oppertunity. So the merger went on. However, this merger has caused several bad things at Sega. Several people who owned the developing teams. You know, like Sonic Team, and the others... several of the people that owned them resigned becuase of this. Currently, it is doing more harm then good. I don't see how this is going to help out Sega in the future. In fact... I don't see Sega in the future at all at this rate. The game styles will be changed... people will turn away... Sega will lose everything. They would of been so much better being absorbed into Nintendo. (It was actually being considered. Miyamoto-San knows everybody at Sega. It was very likley. I kept my eye on it.) Sega is only making this hole of theirs deeper. They are going to be trapt in it at this rate. [glow=blue,2,300] Edit- I just remembered. One day on a search, I found Sega advertising a Capcom game. This is leading to speculation that Sega and Capcom may have some plans. If so, who knows where they will lead. Capcom needs money. They are looking towards Sega for help. Personally, a Sega Capcom PARTNERSHIP (not merger) would do both companies really good. I don't mean like making any new games or anything like that. I mean, advertise for eachother. Help eacher to rank in the money. There is so much that those two companies have in common. They could really do well if they worked together.
Sega and Sammy=BAD partnership Sega and Capcom=GOOD partnership
Sammy came from nowhere. They bought Sega's shares without warning. No one saw it coming... Nintendo actually did have plans they had their eye on a few developers. Sonic Team was one. Miyamoto-San and Naka-San are really good friends. Plus Nintendo could help Sonic Team with their problems (aka the camera issue).
There is so much that Capcom could do to help out Sega. They are two companies not doing good. If they could just work together, so much could happen. I really can't think of what right now. However, it would have a positive outcome for both companies.
Capcom has MegaMan Sega has Sonic
Do something with that. There have been past projects that have been forgotten due to several reasons. Now its too late. Capcom is on their own to get out of the hole.
Sega is going to die in their hole. Its bad really.[/glow] Edit again- " EDIT: Turns out that Sonic Team is going to stay, all other Sega developers have lost their names/identities except for Sonic Team.[/color]" [glow=red,2,300]You dare to doubt my knowledge. I had to go everywhere to find out this stuff. Yuji Naka MADE them agree to let Sonic Team keep their identity. This is why Sonic Team wasn't absorbed into Nintendo. Think about it. Sonic Team is the one that is ranking in the big money for Sega. They are the most pupular and they have given Sega the money that they needed.
Sega-Sammy knew that if they lost Sonic Team it was over.
Think about it. Nintendo would rank in even more money if the percent of Sonic Team's profits went to Nintendo... just imagine what would happen.
-A certain percent of a developers profits goes to the publisher. I don't know the exact number, but its enough to satisfy the publisher. I think it varies from publisher to publisher.
I am so sorry for making this soooooooo long, but that is what it had to take for me to get my point through. This is all of the information that I have gathered, and it needed to be used in this. [/glow]
