Well here you go, information regarding the next generation of game consoles as of June 22, 2004. Information is continually leaking/being predicted so if you want the latest go to GamesIndustry.biz. Xbox 2 (also known as 'Xenon' and 'Xbox Next')Predicted Price: $300-$400 Predicted Release Date: Mid or Late 2005 CPU: (3) IBM PowerPC RISC CPUs, which run parallel to each other RAM: 256MB (could be upped to 512MB) Graphics: ATI R500 GPU Media: Unknown Controller: Same as the Xbox controller, but will not have the black/white buttons Hard Drive: None, as it would make XB2 more expensive; could be released as an accessory Compatability: Will not work with Xbox games Summary: If the Xbox were a Genesis, then Xbox 2 would be a Saturn; it will be released a little early and not have some features we would like to see in it. PlayStation 3Predicted Price: $300-$500 Predicted Release Date: Late 2005 or Early 2006 CPU: IBM "Cell" CPU, made in conjunction with Sony and Toshiba RAM: 256MB Rambus Graphics: Graphics Synthesizer 2 (GS2) Media: Blu-Ray DVD; holds up to 25GB Controller: Same as past DualShock controllers, but with an added trigger on the right side under the R1/R2 buttons Hard Drive: Possible Compatability: Will work with PSOne and PS2 games Summary: Sony might sell two versions of the PS3; one which does basic things, while a more expensive version could record video & burn DVDs. Either way, Sony is taking their time to make a console. Nintendo Revolution (also known as 'N5')Predicted Price: Unknown Predicted Release Date: 2006 CPU: IBM PowerPC CPU RAM: Unknown Graphics: ATI GPU Media: Thought to be an improved 3" disc. Controller: Unknown Hard Drive: Unknown Compatability: Said to work with GameCube games. Summary: Revolution isn't the final name, but its called that because Nintendo claims its going to take back the title of the King of the hill in gaming.

O.O!! DANG! Those are expensive. I had to vote for the N5. Beucase I have grown up with Nintendo, and Nintendo carries my favorite games, and Sony and Microsoft dont.
Besides, my PS2 is still new, and so is my GCN. The N5 comes out when I am a Junior in High School, so I dunno if I still will be the same person that I am now, so I may not get it at all. Besides, I am turning gothic, and I am more interested in music then anything now. ^^ I want the PS3, but it will be too much money. Meh, doesn't matter to me now. They ain't coming out soon!

I voted for the N5 too, for the reasons ZG13 stated; I grew up with Nintendo & it has some of my favorite games. PS3 would be my 2nd choice.

Youre like me you research these things too. Yea I think the XBox 2 will suck but look at the release, doesnt this sound familiar? Year early and lousiest stats but first overall? like the PS2? Its a coin flip with them. But I'm going with Nintendo cause its Nintendo and I'm 100% loyal to them. Nintendo will do well if theyt do te stuff that they didnt do with the GameCube and yet did with all the others. A good launch game, (SSMB was the best launch for the GCN, its good but cant be used alone) They need Super Mario 128 for it and also another Smash Bros, hopefully online. As well as either also a Zelda game or notification of a Zelda game for the future of the system. The continuation of Metroid Prime will be good for the future and better Third Party Support.

If anything the Xbox 2 might become another Sega Saturn; released earlier, created out of haste, from a relatively-new manufacturer.

XBox will be delayed. They will probabley release either before or after PS3 but will wait till they have a few good games backing them up (rumors say Halo 3 will be the first launch game) but XBox is climbing up on the console game area because of KOTOR, Halo, and Fable just to name a few of my favs. Nintendo and Sony will always be there with great games to back them up too. I'll just have to wait to see what games each are planning to have in the futur so I know who to go with.

If anything the Xbox 2 might become another Sega Saturn; released earlier, created out of haste, from a relatively-new manufacturer. However, I think that the XBox2 will have a different fate then the Saturn. I mean think about it. Nintendo was really going up at that time and Sega was the same. Then agian... Nintendo pulled off something that failed. The GameBoy Red. Unfortunitly, I don't have any picutes. GameInformer or GamePro did an article on it. It was released at the wrong time. Just like the Saturn. Both Sega and Nintendo released their products too early and at the wrong time. Microsoft may pull off the same thing with the Xbox2. If so.... hehehhe. Destiny repeats itself. [glow=blue,2,300]Edit- Wow, this is the type of research that I would normally come up with. Man, I am slacking big time. I can't believe it! I used to be on top of this game... oh well. As long as I keep on top with BeyBlade info I will still have my edge for info gathering. *sigh* Oh well.[/glow]

Hmm..im hopeing that this one will use both the small game disc, and normal sized CD. They need 4 launch titles to ensure there gonna be on top: Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Metroid. The Mario release should be either a new SSB, or a remake of the Original. For Zelda, a sequal to the new, more " manly " Zelda comeing out this year. Donkey Kong will be a whole new game, why dont we have him fight King K. Rule, But this time, Bowser has stepped up to the plate to help K. Rule. And for Metriod...well..we already know what works if you catch my drift..

I would like nintendo because for these reasons:
1. Xbox wont have a hard drive, which pretty much makes it useless
2. According to what everyone says, PS3 will be focused around DVD controls.

I vote "N5" in hopes of sonic games, and PS3 in hopes of parasite eve 3, N5 wins though.

*Updated the PlayStation 3 profile*
If the N5 is cheap like the GameCube, I'll get it after I buy a PlayStation 3.

I wish the companies would settle thier differences, and all get together and make the ultimate gaming sytem. But since thier so stuck-up, it will never happen.

Thats never going to happen; as long as video games prove to be a profitable venture, there will always be competition one way or another. And the "one platform, different manufacturers" idea never worked, look at 3DO!

Ive been gathering all of the info that i can about these new systems. They have been recently announced, but there is quite a bit of info. All 3 of them will be revealed at the E3 2005. Xbox2 will be released first, PS3 second, NRevolution last. However, their release dates are bound to change. Xbox2 WILL be online, becuase its Microsoft making the system, you know them. NRevolution is currently undecided. They are considering it. PS3, I don't know. I bearly got any information on it. The NRevolution will not be like the Gamecube. If you want more info on the NRevolution click here. That is an interview that I was able to get my hands on. It is from a XBox fourm. The person that posted it there said they got it from this person named Marik... hey... Is that you Marik?! There is no way that Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony would work together. They have too many different ideas, views, opinions, to ever make it would. It would be a disaster for all 3 of them.

I think Nintendo revolution is the best, if it's going to be better than the Gamecube...And I wish it played GC disks as well, so I wouldnt have to buy a GC. Well, Xbox 2 sounds pretty bad, and PS 3 sounds really good, judging by it's predcestor.

Well the XBox is really doing more successful than any of you think. The Revolution though won't play like a normal console, making prob all games exclusive for Nintendo, now will the third party companies make game for something all new and different? Will the public like it? How will it work? Nintendo won't quit the GCN until 2007 just in case of failure to the Revolution. If it does fail, Nintendo might withdraw. Nintendo will hopefully stop what they screwed up against the SNES, N64 and GCN and release the damn console earlier than competition! PS3 adlooks awesome in stats but will the price(As well as XBox Next), affect their sales. Microsoft will also release their console late again so we know it might fail.

The PS2 came a year early than the others. Nintendo wants to be early And will be the same with PS3 and The XBox Next will be a year later.

Of corse the Xbox2 is being released later then expected due to the fact of how much work it is taking. Also, they are revving up their system so much, it will take longer then expected to make the amount of copies that has to be made. Also, due to the amount of popularity that the XBox has, Microsoft is making tons of systems. I dont know how many though.
The PS3 hmm... Open Graphics? Ive never heard of that before. Thats weird. I wonder what it really is. Id have to see them. I probably have, but I can't remember.
The NRevolution. Hmm... don't get to cocky about this system. I do believe in Nintendo and the NRevolution, however, being in competition with Microsoft and SCEA isn't easy. It all comes down to who attracts the fandoms more. Its the ones released at the right time, and how good it was advertised. They have to have the best games and the best graphics. People loyal to SCEA will get the the PS3, loyal Nintendo fans (like me) will get the NRevolution. People that are hard-core about deadly rated M games, full of violence blood and gore will most likley get the XBox2.
However, I think that it comes down to how strong a fandom is. I will get the PS3 about 2 or 3 years after it comes out, so the price will drop, and a larger selection of games is avaible. The NRevolution I will wait about the same amount of time for the same reasons and this, I got my GCN 2 years ago, and it is still new and it works great. I dont want to get a new sstem so fast. I want to wait. I want a wide range of games, a dropped price, and my GCN and PS2 are still new. So no reason at all to get new systems so fast.

What they mean by an xbox for the next year is because latley game systems have been coming pretty quickly each year with different versions, then a whole new system. the CEO meant that the Xbox wont be modified like the ps1 was long ago (big to small to portable)

The new generation is coming quick cause the current generation sucks. The GameCube needs to be replaced for Nintendo to continue and Sony does have the advantage but the worst graphics and loading time, Microsoft has the games they want the sales they want(kinda) and the statistics they want. Thats why they're waiting. Nintendo for years have said about being on time for the new console cause the last 3 systems were 2nd place cause of it (Yes, the Genesis, PS1 and PS2 were released ahead of time)
