You forced me to use this! Sega has revealed the structure and names of its development studios after its planned reorganization. Under Sega's new studio structure, there will be seven development studios--Hitmaker, Sonic Team, Amusement Vision, Smilebit, Sega-AM2, Wow Works and a new studio named Cinematic Online Games.
Sega Rosso (Sega Rally, NASCAR arcade) will be merged and absorbed into Hitmaker (Virtual On, Crazy Taxi) , and United Game Artists (Rez, Space Channel 5) will be merged and absorbed into Sonic Team (Sonic the Hedgehog, Phantasy Star Online). Smilebit (Jet Set Radio) and Amusement Vision (F-Zero AX, Super Monkey Ball) will not be merging as previously reported, but a part of Smilebit's operations will be transferred to Amusement Vision. Sega-AM2 (Virtua Fighter series, Shenmue series) will stay intact without any changes. Overworks (Shinobi, Sakura Wars) will merge into Wow Entertainment (House of the Dead, Vampire Night) and Wow entertainment will change its studio name to Wow Works. A new company tentatively named Cinematic Online Games will be established. Cinematic Online Games's president will be Yu Suzuki, and 50 employees are scheduled to be present at the studio launch planned for October 1.
Paperwork for the merger will be signed on August 18 and given approval in the stockholders meeting on August 19. The mergers are scheduled to take place later on October 1. Sega does not plan to lay off any employees in the reorganization, meaning that 191 employees will be switching studios in the merger (Sega Rosso: 45 employees, United Game Artists: 40 employees, Overworks: 96 employees). Sega will release more specific details on the studios at a later date.

That Sonic Battle needs to come out on the Cube. SSB was a great game and I think that Sega could do something along those lines. Now that would be a great Sonic multiplayer game!

I want to burn that artical! I did have some truth behind it, the whole Sonic in a vault for the late 90's. But I loved Sonic Adventures because it was fun! It still had Sonic speed so I do not know where he is coming up with it not being fast like before.

Sega and Sonic team didn't lose their magic. They are gaining! I mean, Sonic is so popular here in the city I am. Everyone in my school knows of Sonic. And, a huge majority of them are fans.
Sonic became so popular here in Massachusetts over the summer!
SONIKKU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First Sega tried to get out of the rut, it was called the Dreamcast, saw what happened there, its all downhill from here.
Second That article is 100% correct, Sonic games are meant for speed and Sonic to be the speedster, not this Adventure crap with the treasure hunting and shooting and so many characters. If Sonic Team wants to use Tails and the others, either cameos only or give them their own game cause they branched Sonic so much it sucks now. Sonic is meant for speed not Adventure, what they should do is make a 2d side scroller game like Sonic Advance and the Genesis games and put the best graphics on it, and if you want the Adventure stuff, Give them to the other 100 Sonic Characters that they made

Sonikku....! I was going ot put what I am about ot say in Japanese, but it didn't work out like i thought.
Sonic is popular again. You have to believe in him. Marik, Sonic is more popular then he was in the past 5 years here in Fitchburg. You can't see that?! Marik. Open you eyes. Sonic is pulling through. The Sonic Adventure Series wasn't a desgrace.... It was a miracle. If it wasn't for those, Sonic wouldn't even be noticed in our hearts. Sonic the Hedgehog. The most way past cool video game character EVER!

hey Sonic Team failed, deal with it
Sonic Adventure didnt appeal like it should have in 1999, If Sonic Team knew how to make games, the Dreamcast would still be up, or maybe a future system by now, but Segas mascot couldnt take on the PS2 and GCN for the N64 for God's sake, The reason alot of people bought the DC was for Sonic and i was pleased until i beat it, theres no secret after getting all 130 emblems, so that was dissapointing. And after beating it with Sonic, the other's stories were repetitive
Sonic Adventure...... a blessing LMAO
Sonic Adventure 2 was alright, i liked Green Hill Zone when i unlocked it. But For me who played a game like SA1, it was a dissapointment vs the other game i played that was like that, Mario 64, ya think SA, being released 3-4 yrs after Mario 64, it would have been better
Sorry Yuki Naka, you were beat before the game came out

Marik, you can't understand the point I am getting at! Thanks to the Sonic Adventure Series, Sonic is popular again. Tons of people within my school have said that Sonic is so awesome, and that the Sonic Series is like none other. Now, that was like the entire school! And, NCCES, goes out to Clinton! So, thanks to the Sonic Adventure Series, my determination, and Yuji Naka's, Sonic is more popular then he was in teh past 5 years. So, don't diss the Sonic Adventure Series.
Besides, if the Sonic Adventuer Seires never happened, I would not even have the chance to remember my grandfather.

The only reason SA got famous cause it was the first Sonic platformer relesased since Sonic 3, of couse it got some reconition, but they could have went to a whole better road. I wouldnt call Sonic famous. Pokemon was famous, Sonic isn't. SA wasn't real respectable for the expirience gamer.

There are more people here who like Sonic above Mega Man. In video games Final fantasy is the top but Sonic is in the Top ten so Sega is doing the right thing...it just took them to bring Sonic to a diffrent system

Yeah. And, when Sonic Heroes comes out, then Sonic will sky rocket! I mean, this past summer Sonic ranked within the elite 8 on the Game FAQs summer Battle. Now, it takes a Pro to make it in!
Plus, today in Wal*MArt, I saw TONS of kids liek 5 and 6 years old with the Sonic toys from McDonalds. They are the next generation of Sonic Fans.

first ANY kid will play with ANY toy thet get
Sega did a good job making Sonic famous IN 1993!!! 10 yrs later, Sonic is only famous due to its reputation from 93 and Sonic is the king of furry art, so that got them some people, any true gamer that is expirience and knows alot about gaming news and a neutral mind about things, but with opinion, thinks the latest Sonic could have been so much better

I asked them. Nothign beats the old Sonic Games, but guess what? If it wasn't for the Sonic Adventure Series I would have no destiny, no way to remember my grandfather! You don't get it.

Undercover reporter and Top Secret Agent TailsFan24 gets the scoop again. This time by spying on kids at walmart and interviewing them, Sonic fandom lives on. Hehe. Really though that couldn't have been easy. And maybe they may play with any toy handed to them, but its a Sonic toy. They are like chao. Raise them with Sonic toys and they will evolve into Sonic fans. And then the special ones chosen to have the Tails games will see that Tails is better than everyone else and they will be the new generation of Tails Fans

Ask yourself, did you see any Sonic games on the Sega Saturn? I mean a REAL Sonic game, not some racing title or port from the Genesis. They were going to release such a game, but conflicts at Sonic Team caused the game to never make it. It would've sold more Saturns:
