It would seem that TSN will begin to have a sudden change of luck with it's current budget. Because of this, TTA could get an upgrade in it's current hosting package at no additional cost, not that it cost anything to begin with. But lets wait and find out shall we? XFox, this would be a good time to list some of the things you might need that you don't currently have, such as MySQL, CGI/Perl, etc...

Doesn't this belong in the Talking Board, or Web Design? XFox can you help me out here?~!! It would be General because it's regarding an announcement that can affect The Tails Archive. I'm satisfied with everything there so far. The only thing I can think of that I might need in the future is the ability for a php script to write a temporary output file to download (I never tried to see if I can or not). When my Sonic & Knuckles Collection save file is complete, it would be able to generate a downloadable save file on demand (with a random name and then can remove itself after an hour or so since a 1 kb file shouldn't take long to download). I've seen this done with an online jasc palette making page. But if I can come far enough in programming with C++ (with the Windows API) to be able to make a GUI and output a file in binary, I might not need this. If there were an ascii solution, I could just make a copy and paste output with javascript. So far I'm the first one to crack the password format in Tails Adventure and several Megaman games. I love challenges like that. Sonic Adventure DX for PC might be done sometime in the future too! ;D

There arn't any php restictions on your hosting package except for MySQL. You should be able to do that without it right?
Also I am going to start my ODBC project for a database instead of MySQL, not a permanant replacement but a test run.

MS Access ODBC is a better database in my opinion, mainly its because I can edit the database offline. Also, its the only database format my server supports (without an extra cost, Microsoft SQL is $25 extra)

I don't know anything about databases other than they are files you can read and write to in a specific format. But if you can write to a file in whatever fashion or format you want, then why is most of these "database" things so overrated? It's just a file following some format that some programs have adapted to support reading and writing to isn't it? What keeps someone from making special read and write functions to store data in an XML file? I'm sure it could be done.

Because I haven't actually used ODBC, I'm still reading up on it. Bleh. It may take a while for me to learn this stuff on the side with all the rest of my projects.
