There will also very likely be a web browser for the DS. The Dreamcast has already done this. And if cell phones can browse the web to an extent, the DS could handle it too. The thouchpad would be used as a virtual keyboard while the other screen could be for display. There's no official info to back this up, but if Nintendo doesn't do it, somebody else will. While the DS is currently safe from being emulated due to the touch screen, endless possibilities exist for homebrew ROM developers that can take advantage of the wireless Wi-Fi connection. This will no doubt cause some controversy, but it will give the DS an edge with its competition over the PSP. Gamers could learn how to make their own programs and games, as well as further appreciate and understand what companies go through. At this rate, if enough people know enough and work together, there could even be FireFox for the DS in the future . Wouldn't be too surprising since there's already development for putting Linux on the DS (as it's already been done for the Gamecube, PS2, and XBox). Share your opinions here.

The PSP has a built in web browser. I don't think the current model DS's will have a browser, if any; but there is a newer model of it with a built in PDA software from Palm OS. This version might have a browser in it. The online service is confirmed free and accessible through a normal hotspot. Also the Revolution will have Wi-fi out of the box, it most likely will mean DS/Revolution link up and it might be more sucessful cause the reason it wasnt sucessful with the GCN/GBA is paying for a cable. Also if the Revolution is going online(most likely) it could make it that if the Revolution is on and have online service, your house automatically becomes a hotspot for the DS's online service, that would be great!

Well, a point in the emulation zone. I'm sure if people want the DS to be emulated bad enough, it's going to happen. It's almost inevitable, right? The only way I could see a touchscreen effect working is if the mouse was used to emulate a stylus. However, I think that'd require a bit of getting used to.
And I'm positive the DS will sell better than PSP just because if its name, which I find sad. If people only recognise and like a system because of who manufactures it, I think they should really think a bit about how the form their opinions. I'm actually quite disappointed in the decline of many great Nintnendo titles recently, I think they should wise up. But to get more on topic, I'm sure the PSP will try to out do the DS in Wi-Fi anyway they can to stay ahead of the game. They still have a huge flock of Final Fantasy fans waiting for Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children's release. Well, at least here they do.

This is the beginning of the life cycle, its always slow. The DS has tons more games in development than the PSP. The DS is cheaper and have more options of ideas for games. "It takes a while for developers to realize its full potential. Look at Resident Evil 4: If we could have shown that game the day we launched the GameCube, it could have been a different story"- Reggie Fils-Aime That means the specs of software with the capabilitites of the hardware. And the PS2 is the weakest of consoles and its doing better so graphical power isn't #1 here. And it wasn't til GTA3 and Final Fantasy X to show its true potential, one year after the console's launch. Fall of '05 looks good for the DS also. And the name does wonders also, because Nintendo knows how to make a handheld. The GBA wasn't all that great til it's second year with Pokemon Ruby and Saphirre.
In Japan, The DS sold more than the PSP,PS2,GBA,GCN,and Xbox COMBINED this last week from the next gen Pokemon-ish game, Nintendogs! The DS's first killer title.
Advent Children is coming to DVD also. I save $100 and have a better library and still play movies with the PS2 and a lot of people have made the PS2 ITSELF portable, as in a car or hook that snap on screen and battery and play it anywhere. Sony should work towards that instead...
