yea the bottom screen is touch sensitive but its not used in all games. it still has the D Pad and Start, Select, A B X Y R L buttons on the side. It has Wi Fi, With Voice Reconition and IM capabilities. The NEW Super Mario Bros. is a new Mario Sidescroller like in the good ol days but good graphics.

It looks cool. And it has a Metroid game, so I have to buy it. Like I need another hand-held console, this thing is going to make the GBA obselete, like it did with the GBC.

I wondre if they are really going to continue with the GBA is this one takes off. I can't see them running both.
They could possibly just let the conceal bussiness go and line a contract with either XBox or Sony to link up to their futur systems.

No, its much more then that. Its a freakin hanheld Game Cube, and i think it plays GCN games. It also has Wi-Fi. I just hope you can hook it up to your GCN and play the games on your TV.

I don't think that can happen, since some games need a touch-sensitive screen, something the DS has and the GCN doesn't.

[glow=green,2,300]The DS is meant to be a sort of different console, not a new GB.[/glow]

I dunno Tatsumaki.
The one thing that I do know is that this is what is going to rival the PSP. Nintnedo OWNS the handheld systems. They don't wanna share it with anyone. So when they got word of the PSP (Play Station Portable for those of you who don't know what it is) they had to create one that was going to be better then the PSP.
I have inside info for the PSP and it is going to be tough to rival, but I think the DS can handle it.

The DS sounds awesome, and I'm definetly gonna buy it when it becomes availible late this year. It sounds very innovative, although it doesn't sound like it's going to break any new barriers at the moment. I mean, the DS's double screens sound amazing, but thus far... I've only seen the alternate screen used as a map (GCN/GBA connectivity has already premiered this idea) and an info screen (VMU anyone?). If some companies (I'm sure Nintendo would be one of them) come up with new ideas to take full advantage of the two screens, we'll be set. But if not, the DS seems to basically be an assortment of once-innovative ideas, thrown together to form a mildly innovative portable device. The touch screen and improved graphics will no doubt improve the quality of this upcoming device, and the double screens mean great potential... as long as companies take advantage of them in the right ways (as I stated above). In the end, I'm very excited about Nintendo's new console, but I'm a little concerned about how companies will use the system, and how gamers will react. But I'm a loyal Nintendo fan, and a true gamer... and I'll certaintly purchase the DS.

The main thing that I am worried about for the DS is the cost. I mean, something like this won't be cheap at all. Plus with my family being on a tight budget and all, we can't afford to buy something like that if we don't need it. I have looked, not hard, but I didn't find an estimated price for the DS.
However, I think that Nintendo won't let it be expensive. I know for a fact that it won't be all that expencive compared to the PSP. I checked the estimated price for the PSP as of now. It is way up there. So I think that Nintendo will keep the cost of their DS to a minimum.
Did anyone here find out what the games will be like. I mean, are they made like Game Boy games or something else? I have no clue yet. As long as the DS doesn't need a memory stick like the PSP I will be happy.

I think the estimated price of the DS is in the range of $150 - $200. It's a reasonable price, unlike the estimated price range of the PSP, which will be very exspensive. Of cource, the PSP will look much more sleek and will be visually astounding. But the DS will probably have the better gameplay, and the more innovative ideas.
