Rare was bought from Nintendo to Microsoft in 2002. After that, Microsoft allowed Rare to develop for the GBA due to it not being competition to the Xbox, and a few good games came out for it. When Nintendo announced the Nintendo DS in 2004, Microsoft declared that Rare will not develop for it. In Rare's site they are hiring for modelers and programmers for the DS. This change of heart was prob due to Nintendo's competition, the PSP, Sony's newest machine. Since the Xbox 360's announcements, Microsoft declared that they will go right after Sony in the next-gen console war. To further the attacks on Sony, they'll attack via next gen handheld too, the PSP, by teaming with Nintendo. I think in the future, Microsoft Game Studios will develop for the DS as well via Rare.

Microsoft games on a Nintendo system would be wild. Maybe Microsoft will make their own handheld now. ;D

Microsoft will never have a handheld. Microsoft Game Studios are supporting that other handheld, the Zodiac. Microsoft did make N64 games so it's nothing new.

Yeah, I was kidding about Microsoft making a handheld, but I did not know that they made games for the N64. Learn somethin' new everyday.
