Is it true that game cube games run better on the Wii? It would make sense because the Wii is more powerful.

Unless you have the componet cables for the Wii and no componets for the GCN, then no. When the developers make a game for a console, everything made for it (like models, levels etc.) is basically set in stone. There are only 2 console games that look better on their next gen counterpart and that's Halo and Halo 2 if played on the 360. And that's only because Microsoft made a special emulator for the two games so that they can get HD.

With component cables on my Cube and AV jacks for the Wii, I think it looked better on the cube. But with the same setup, I don't think they should look any different. In the GC mode, it doesn't grant any greater limits, so the same limitations would apply. You can expect the same graphical qualities, the same loading times, same memory card speeds, etc. I ordered the component cables and they should arrive tomorrow. I currently have the Wii hooked up to my TV's front inputs. I can't use AV in my console switchbox because everything else uses S-video and higher (Having an S-video cable plugged into my TV for the switchbox, it ignores the yellow composite video wire of AV for the same set of ports). Not only is having to change the input mode a pain with my TV, but if I lose my remote or its batteries die, I can't do it at all.

I know the the graphics wouldn't get any better, I meant if like in a game cube game if the frame rate dropped in a game, would it drop on the Wii.

It will still drop, because that is a developer error. Because the Wii will become a GCN when it's playing a GCN game. Wii will not make any GCN better or worse in any way.
