Miyamoto-san has announced that certain GameCube games are gonna have a makeover on the Wii. Dunno if he means a sequel or an actual remake, but 2 games are already announced as a sequel. Super Mario Strikers Charged and Batillion Wars 2(Or cleverly abbr. as BWii). Both have similar controls to the GCN ones but with these little Wii twists. As well as fixing what's wrong(especially with BWii).
Mario Strikers will also have a few changes, first it's on Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection! You can play online(As well as locally)! Allowing players to compete in matches or even set up tournaments with other Strikers players across the globe. Strikers offers anywhere from one to four players.
The graphics are touched up a bit, looks nicer, and a few gameplay additions. For characters, you can select one of 12 team captains, and plug in popular characters into the other slots. Each team can also use three of a total eight "sidekicks" that are less skilled, but still more powerful than the basic teammates from the GameCube version. Now players can now pull off a "Mega Strike", that can split the ball into up to five balls, each going to the opponent's goal. The other player can control the Kremling goalie and target the balls with the Wiimote, so it won't go in.
Batillion Wars 2, I hated the first one, but the sequel def added WAY new potential. First and most, Multiplayer. Not just that but all out Multiplayer! Three Online Multiplayer Modes: Assault: Instant Combat, Skirmish: Tactical depth and Co-op: Work with friends! Next, they added naval units too! Battleships, Frigates, Submarines, Dreadnoughts and Transport ships. Add the fact there's six different races, Five Different Environments; and new vehicles for each side. Next is the newer control schemes: Capture facility buildings to re-spawn units (HQ, Barracks, Factories, Airfield, Docks) and use "Map Screen Commanding" to order from afar. 20+ single player missions AND 15+ multiplayer missions! This really makes BWii a watch out.
Hopefully in the future, we'll see if more arrive. When Miyamoto was interviewed, remakes might happen and if they do, they'll be at budget price. Wind Waker and Mario Sunshine are two games I want to see get added to this list. With Twilight Princess and Mario Galaxy, those 2 games would be easy to do. Hopefully even with WiiSports, Mario's sports will still continue with Golf and Tennis.
