I loved Starfox since I played the original on the SNES (which I sadly can't find after I moved) The 3-D graphics amazed my 4 year old mind although I really didn't play it much.
Starfox 64 (Lylat Wars) on the other hand I have played over 10,000 hours. I never stopped playing it after it came out, I would literally beat it and play it over and over and over again. Prior to all my friends moving, we would have what I guess you could call Starfox LAN's (2 TV's 2 seperate games going). To this day I play through it at least once a month. To be honest I'm really am surprised the cartridge still works. >> I currently rank it my 3rd favorite game of all time (behind Klonoa:EOD and DMC 3)
I avoided Starfox:Adventures because I knew it was a completely different game then the previous 2. I only bought it last year because I just happened to find it for $9.99 at EBGames and honestly I wished I had bought it sooner. Sure the flying sucked but it was just like Zelda with furries and horrid British voice acting, horrid horrid British voice acting.
*Gringes* Starfox:Assault.... not so much with the good. Namco really screwed up the flying on this one. You can only barrel roll on the left trigger and in all-range mode you can bump into stuff head on, take no damage and just stay there shooting it. I enjoyed the foot missions for the most part but there were too many of them and your partner never did anything. Also it was short, not short in a good way that I could play though it in one sitting like 64 was but just short. Im sure the multiplayer is great, its just a shame its not on-line and that I can't convince my friends to stop the 16 player Halo 2 frenzy to play some 4 player splitscreen Gamecube action.
Other (Fanboyish) problems with Assault
---------------------------------
-Peppy retires and Krystal takes his place, bastards
-The voice acting made me want carve a crucifix into my head with a box cutter while blasting "Crazy train", oh yeah it's that bad.
-The ending sucked
-I miss Slippy's voice from 64
-They killed off Pigma, bastards
Um yes, discuss
