It won't require cookies at all. But music can get boring fast. Well, if we want to ask the user just once if they want music, and to remember their choice, that will require cookies. For now, all we can do is a button to press and you'll hear music. What's a good midi to play? I have a favorite, but it's not mine.

Does anyone know what spc is? It's music from snes games but has better quality than midi. I can put those up but you can't hear it without a plugin.

What programs play those files

What programs play those files Winamp can play them with a plugin. Or you can get a separate player for them such as ZDspc. Here are the details for an snes song you may find on the net: - Large files (apporx 3 MB for 4 minutes)
- Average quality (probably recorded with a mic from the tv)
- Plays for as long as it was recorded.
- Small files (64 kb file and 0.5 KB header)
- Full quality (recorded byte for byte) coming straight from the rom.
- Original format, can repeat forever just like on an SNES

But can it be played in the Background ? The only player that has Internet explorer or Netscape plugins is ZDspc. So if I had songs playing in the background, only people using that player and having set up the plugin will hear any music at all. If you want the player, ask me about it since the creator took down the page to it.

How many songs can you play with it though? Be great if you could have a small playlist so it wouldn't play the same song over and over.

If it were to be any song, most likley, that it would be Tails theme from Sonic Adventure. That was a great version. Karen Brake did an awesome job. When Kaz Silver sang the SA2 version, I wondered, if there was a miscomunication. What I mean is, I wondered if Kaz Silver thought that Tails was four, the way he sang the theme.

SPC being from the Sony SPC700 chip found in the SNES means there would only musics from those games. If you want the player, ask me on AIM. For those of you that have the player, go to scorpius.spaceports.com/~xfox/other/spc to hear a page of random songs (to test it out).

How many songs can you play with it though? Be great if you could have a small playlist so it wouldn't play the same song over and over. Put it this way. For 400 kb, I can give you an entire game's collectionsound tracks! Unfortunately online support for full archives and playlisting never had all the bugs worked out. But it works fine offline.

Yeah, I agree, that would sound good on a Tails board. And other Tails-related songs/music.

The problem is that its repetitive and it'll reset after you go into a board and to reply and going back so you'll only hear a little bit every time and its always the beginning

So how about this:
Have a pop-up that contains the music every time that you come to the forums. This way, you won't hear 15-20 seconds of a song, then restart from the beginning, listen to another 20 seconds, etc, etc, etc...
Also, if someone doesn't want to listen to the music, they could enable their pop up blocker / alt+f4 the popup.
It's either that, or a frame on the left/ right that contains the music...
Those are my 2 cents, if you spend 'em or not, that's up to you...
