AKA Sonic 3 and Knuckles Special Stages
Either in Mega Collection or using Sonic 1 on Sonic and Knuckles. Theres literally HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of Special Stages! By either going level by level or putting the passwords in. Its MAD HARD! You thing the ones you were doing to get the Super Emeralds was hard. NOT EVEN CLOSE then these damn stages. I love it.

Yeah, i played it for hours and hours... my back ached and my b-- err, nevermind. Anyway, i played it for hours... i looked up on the net for passwords and they dont even go up to the so called 'end'! How could they fit so many levels on such a low-grade cartridge? (by that, i mean compared to the CDs we use today)
I was up to like level 237 when i gave up on it. I still have the password... somewhere...

I have a couple of notebooks somewhere that had passwords to some stages. I was somewhere between Level 1000 and 1500 (there were some gaps since I often got perfects, skipping ahead 10 stages). But I'd go back and fill them in eventually.

I can give you a password for any of the stages, from 1 to 123456801, and if you still own any other game that isn´t Sonic 1, 2 or 3 you can still play Blue spheres! For example, if you put Vectorman in Sonic & Knuckles, you will be able to play it but it will only have the same stage over and over an over again. However, if you beat this stage you gain a password that you can enter in the original Blue Spheres to get a bonus special stage! But some games are not compatible like Vectorman 2.

strange...
Anyway, i feel as though that they only made 100 stages, and the rest are just re-runs, but you start out uber quick...

Really there are only 5141 stages (I´m not really sure) I just got this piece of info, Sonic 1 & Knuckles wasn´t cut becaus of SBZ conveyor belts, it was palette issues! Somehow, Sonic´s pallette made the stages look right, so if you use Knuckles´ pallette they will look horrible, so SEGA replaced the with this mini-game instead of Knuckles in Sonic 1.

I can see why. Since they use so many colors, the only way to not go above the limit is to make some of the colors go with sonic as well. Anyone notice that in Sonic 3, if you go super, and defeat robotnik in hydrocity, that the game glitches, causing it so you keep flashing (even as normal sonic) and when you hit the button to free the flickies, the blue flickes come out shining just like super sonic. Basicaly, they try to use so many colors that they put in a script saying that the colors of sonic and the other blue stuff has to go together... Trust me... i know about it

No, you don't know about it. Script? Where? It's called patterns. Sonic's palette occupies part of palette row 0. Sonic's patterns use palette row 0. Other patterns such as flickies that also uses palette row 0 will change colors whenever Sonic goes super or hyper, or when you play as Knuckles.
Sonic 1 had stuff that used Sonic's palette, so this stuff would change if you played as a different character. Sonic 2 had been designed for Super Sonic so none of the other stuff used Sonic's palette. This is why you can play Knuckles in S2 and not Knuckles in S1.

THE GAME JUST CHEATED ME!!! I was at level 11, trying to get out of a wall of bumpers, and suddenly, the game slowed down and led me directly onto a red sphere! Has anybody else been cheated by this mini-game?

Its a small glitch that CAN happen. Dont worry, you can atleast start the level once again by hitting "Start" again, and retry.
Plus, the game is...
1. Running on a different console = Emulation 2. Is old
put those 2 together and you will experience the occasional bug.
NOTE: If you have the Xbox version (-MAYBE PS2-), Mega Collection PLUS, you can save and directly restart where you are, meaning if your about to hit a blue sphere and save, then when you reload it, you will be right at that exact position. Great for those people that wanna get above 5000 levels!
