Well I've on a post mode today so I'll continue with a few RPG's that will be hitting the Wii soon(er or later or never). Most of the intel is from IGN and 1up.com. Also showing off the RPG this console desprately needs. Not many on shelves today outside Fire Emblem and Dragon Quest Swords.
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
-Recently hit Japan while the North American territories will receive it later on in 2008 if we're lucky.
-Two years after Symphonia 1. Emil Castagnier and Marta Lualdi are the main characters. Because the worlds of Sylvarant and Tethe'alla have merged, these 2 characters want to know why their world is in a bit of chaos. People are fighting and climates have drastically changed. Most of the old cast will be brought back, if not playable. Like Lloyd, who these 2 new characters think he killed their loved ones.
-A lot of changes to gameplay unlike other Tales games. Global World map with "selectable destinations." A new battle system known as "FR:EE-LMBS" or "Flex Range Element Enhanced Linear Motion Battle System," whatever the hell that is...
-Another part of the gameplay changes is capturing monsters for added allies.
-Game uses little motion and IR controls. One thing is ala DS games like Zelda, Ninja Gaiden and Summon Night, you can move around with the pointer while holding down B. You CAN move like that, not forced, Nunchuck will be used too. No GCN and Classic controller support.
Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon
-Made by Tri-Crescendo, known for Baten Kaitos and personal fav Eternal Sonata. Still not a lot known on the game.
-Everyone's gone and Seto, the main character, goes around trying to find these missing people via clues in dungeons and the such. You get partners along the way.
-Does use Wii remote functionality like a flashlight.
-Does not use much Wii remote functionality in battle.
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon
-Comes out next week
-Dungeon Crawler ala Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon and Izuna.
-First time Square isn't charging full price, it a "budget" $40.
-No known motion controls and no Nunchuk support, move 1 square at a time(like a invisible grid ala Pokemon MD and Izuna) with the d-pad and you hold the remote normally, not sideways, so movement and attacking is kinda based off of Dragon Quest Swords.
Arc Rise Fantasia
-Might get this, we get none of Epoch's games, except of their last game, Luminous Arc for DS. If Atlus can get it, we might get a release here for it.
-Dragons have been flocking about and if you kill one, it'll emit poison, seems it's flocking toward a kingdom and you(named Bright) are hired to help stop it along a bunch of soldiers and mercenaries. You fight with the prince, Alse until you get hurt and saved by Ryphia and she can control magical "luminous rain" storms.
-1up states it's turn based and uses a "action point-based system"
