It's summer when you leave at 11:30 at night from the latest Pixar flick.
I still after over a decade have to give it to them. They know how to craft a CGI film after, you know, CREATING THE GENRE. The total polish a Pixar creation has is uncanny, they have, even since Toy Story, been beautiful.
When you hear post-apocalyptic, you think of something like Fallout, complete and utter destruction. Funny how Wall-E makes it seem cute with the Disney sugarcoating. Of course when they use the Disney name, it means it's family rated, but did you know they made the latest 360/PS3 Turok? It was under their Touchstone label.
There's no reason to mention the great cast, music, and story; cause it's near flawless. But the execution of the story is another thing. The thing is that the movie's tone, story, humor, drama and the such was done with only 10-20% of the voice acting of a normal movie. No narrator, conversations explaining of the story. Of course there's VO in the movie, but none of it needed to explain a thing, just open your eyes and take in all of that. It's a excellent choice for this.
Well to make a short review shorter, I'll end it here. Wall-E is like any Pixar film before it in quality and if you're a fan of it, it's an obviously a must see. And always, it executes in a different style than we were expecting. It may be just another Pixar flick, but it just means it's a just another must see masterpiece.
The opening Pixar short was hilarious as well. If you haven't, grab the Pixar shorts Blu-Ray(or DVD). It's well worth it.
