they both make a good team but,they should split up.There is a code in sonic advance that there togeter Tails is my best character in most of the sonic games.

Of course they make a great team. Sonic has speed, Tails has flight, and then you need to add in Knuckels for power. I think the three are great togeather. Tails was great on his own in SA1, but in SA2 I lost something when he used a mech...it was cool and all, just not the same.  |

Only in Chao Garden if I remember right.
And I played around in that Garden with Tails more then I played his levels.

The fact that Tails was stuck in a walker for the duration of the entire game in SA2 was really annoying. I understand sonicteam were adding a bit of variety to the gameplay but it just didn't work for me, and that bloody desert level with the sinking sand, it was irritating to play. Anyway I love complaining so pay no attention.  |

On topic, I dont think they make a great TEAM because in the genesis/megadrive sonic games Tails was fine at coping on his own, he could do almost everything sonic could do and more. Sonic on the other hand needed Tails to fly the plane in Sonic 2 and needed Tails to carry him in the Marble Garden boss of Sonic 3. In the games Sonic needs Tails but Tails doesnt need Sonic. Different story in the cartoons though. In SatAM, Tails only makes himself useful towards the end of the series which shows Sonic and Tails making a nice little team.

Yeah that pissed me off the most. They made Tails useless other then being cute. I'm sort of glad that SEGA is making their own story line with SA ans SA2, giving Tails more of a role and abilities!  |

Well, he was a ten year-old in a war so of course hes useless. The other characters are too young aswell but that would remove the point from the programme, plus its a kids show, hehe.
Besides, I like Tails as the cute little kid trying to be an adult, I dont agree with him being 'cool' as such, hes nerdy! Im not saying I dont like him coz thats absolute crap, just dont think he should be made tougher and tougher, theres already enough bloody tough characters! Tails is the cute one!

Not going with the tough style Tails, but I like that he is working problems out by thinking of ways around it without fighting, trying to save Sonic's butt

And, yeah, playing with him in the Chao garden is more fun. |
