D: Totally, you should all go. Because I am currently 90% sure that I can go. And if I go I am meeting the ultimate akureikarasu.deviantart.com and like, you all get to maybe meet me if you can find me. lol, Im not sure if I can go yet. I have to get my report card first. I'll let you guys know (if i remember to come) to see if I got a weekend pass or not. :\ My parents and I agreed that a non failing report card = Anime Boston sweetness. <3 It's fun to meet people.

There's probably an incredibly low chance I'll be able to go, unless I somehow am admitted into Boston University, then I'll just say that I'm checking it out.

<3 I am going to Anime Boston now. My mom ordered the three day past. Now hopefully the person I am getting a ride from doesn't start to hate me like how I saw in my dream. ._. I'll cry if I miss anime boston now.

I should go there, but I dunno about Boston, everytime I'm there, I just feel sorry for being there, plus I don't want to drive there, They should have it outside Boston so I don't have to risk my life.... Uhh no offense I think.

I wanted to be a volunteer, but I can't. Age wise I am allowed to, but I need my mom to sign the papers at the desk saying it's okay. And I know that she won't want me to! *cries* I wanna volunteeere! Anyway I just managed to hit $200 for my money saved up. D: DON'T JUMP ME! Anyway I don't know if i'll cosplay or not. If anything I'll just wear a whole bunch of random anime stuff. =D Because I'm one of those people!

.... Why don't you just look up the anime boston site to see when and where?
Hmm.. maybe I'll end up running into you there Sammy-chan. I think tonight I'll talk to my friend and see if she wants to go. Heh, if I'm gonna get lost in the crowd, I want someone to get lost with me. I can always just take the train in too. That's what we usually do when we go to Boston. Oooo... wai! Maybe I'll get to see another Ouka like I did last time I was in Boston during the convention. About cosplaying... I could probably do that. Hmm.. I'm not sure who I want to cosplay as though.
It's too bad I wouldn't be able to stay up there for three days. I don't know anyone who lives up there. There's no way I'd be able to get a hotel. Those are reserved like a whole year in advance.

.... And yesterday, I found out I'm going to a concert on the day I was going to go. Argh! Again! Just like every year -_-; I always have something else I'm doing on the day I wanna go to Anime Boston.
Oh well... I had no one to go with me after all too. My friend decided she can't because she needs to save her money... even though she's trying to pay for me to go see Dropkick Murphys with her.
Maybe if i go Sunday or I decide I'm not gonna close at work on friday. Then i still need to find someone. Well, if you don't see me Sammy-chan, you can hunt down Matty-kun for me. He seems to go to it every year. I don't think it'd be too hard to find him. The again, he might cause there's a lot of people. lol, and i have no idea what he really looks like. all i know is he loves Bleach, ....and anything that involves fire.

I can't believe it! It's only 11 days away now. I'm starting to organize the troops that I'm going to meet and be like "D: Dude, if ya wanna meet me we have to exchange phone numbers otherwise I won't know where the hell you are!"
I'm so excited yet nervous. I am severely agoraphobic and places of that size get me really nervous.

heh, maybe Marik shouldn't be so lazy and get on the board more.
If I had to pick between concert and convention. I'd go convention One problem... no one will go with me. So I guess I'll have to wait for next year. Which is okay! Cause now I can practice the japanese schoolgirl dance routine we'll perform at the convention

You really needed to be on this board more cause I had no idea its so close now... D: I trrrry. But I have so much to do in real life and with other places on the internet. You could have checked google if you really wanted to know Marik. lol, hopefully next year I'll have my own car, I'll sleep in it and have cosplays that require wigs so that no one can tell that my hair is flat. Along with other items to not show that I haven't bathed since that Friday morning. =P Well I'll take plenty of pictures. I don't know if I will be able to get them online. I'm using disposable camera's and scanning pictures might not go so well for me. They might come out all crappily.

Well, I figured I should revive this old thread. Because Anime Boston is coming back around. It's around the end of March. The weekend of Easter. I'll have to find myself a calendar or something so I can find the exact dates.
Maybe this time I will get to see you Nyiana-chan. Because this time around, I am definitely going. But seeing how you are not really on the board anymore, I'll have to tell you on DA.

Actually I can't go to Anime Boston 2008. It's on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Not that I'm religous or anything, but my friends are, and I was planning on going with them. As soon as we learned that it was on Easter Sunday, we just kind of looked at each other and we knew that all of our plans fell apart.

Aw, not cool. Oh well. I'll probably still go to Anime Boston. But as of right now, I'm not sure. Not with everything in my life falling apart in less than a week. But it's still a few months away so maybe i'll be able to get it together before then.

I just came back from Anime Boston and after wasting all of Friday to register(7 hour wait!), I went to the rave(it was 11pm when we registered) and spent all Saturday in the Dealer room before I had to go back home for work Sunday. Do have to admit, they had cheap stuff. I got a sealed copy of Chrono Cross for PSX to replace my busted up one, and it was only $25. As well as caught up on my manga and anime I was in the middle of. Other than that, I really didn't want to do much. Well you guys know that's not the only con I go to. I also attend ConnectiCon in the summer and both cons I have pros and cons with.
Anime Boston: Pros: EXCELLENT Location: Attached to the convention center is several hotels and a mall. Not only is it easy to attend with going to one of many local hotels, a really neat mall with an excellent food court. Why? Sakku Japan (or Sarku or Sakkio Japan depending on what that one calls itself, and no fast food) Cool Artist's gallery Great Dealer Room Helpful Staff Great people there, met a lot of new friends. Great cosplayers (A lot of them too). Better Late Night party.
Cons: Hated the selection of Anime to watch there. Gaming room organized poorly, All small TVs with Brawl on 2 of them. The room's gigantic and yet they don't spread it out. One projector could of saved that Brawl tourney. Registration was too long. Even ones who Pre-Registered had to wait a few hours. Didn't really want to attend most workshops and events and events I did want to watch filled up so fast. Lots of empty space in hallways and not a lot of sitting room. Too many damn people.
ConnectiCon: Pro: Always end up buying an entire series based on what I watch there.(Great viewing selection) Schedule is extremely detailed on whats going on and makes you want to view most of the anime there. People involved and guests are very outspoken. Focuses on webcomics also, great to meet some of them, they aare a lot of fun Better Gaming room, bigger HDTVs and Projectors Sponsors like GameStop, Best Buy, Namco Bandai and ADV strongly support it, they get a lot of help from them.
Con: TERRIBLE Location, Like Anime Boston, I have to emphasis it strongly. Other than the one Mariott attached, no easy to reach hotel, likely a 20 minute walk. Also no food there other than a terrible Burger King and Subway. Again, Smash Bros was organized poorly. Using the TVs right in front is bad, tends to block the exit. Dealers Room no where as big. No one treats it as big as Anime Boston, but should. Not enough on great cosplayers Too many people for it(but are expanding)
Now I might still attend both, the location thing both helps AB and hurts CC a lot. Especially after AB did I realize that CC is really in a bad location. the Pros and Cons are night and day.
So did you attend any cons? Anything good or bad to say about them, or even the ones listed here? If not, try going to one. Mostly there's a con locally around the populated parts of the country. Makes a cool weekend trip if you're good on making the most of it.

Aw, but you totally missed the masquerade. I'll admit, I could have done without the waiting in line. Especially cause I was already tired of playing Marco Polo. That was one reason why I was standing around in the Gaming Room. But the masquerade was funny. Especially the pre-show, complete with sing along and all. (Believe me, we were still singing today during Cosplay Chess).
Seeing how I was there all three days (and I only had to wait in line for three hours) I can recap some of the stuff I saw and did. So I'll go through it day by day.
Friday, it was mostly about admiring the cosplay outfits for me. I saw some really cute ones and adorable ones. Some I just saw too many of. Like, Link and Haruhi and Edward Elric. There was just too many of the same costume. But I did see an awesome Piccolo from DBZ. I'm not sure why Jack Sparrow was there... but... he was pretty good at getting down the character just right. You would have thought he was the real Johnny Depp. As for events, I only really went to 3 of them. There was the Anime Name that Tune, the Dating Game for the mature audience and.... well... yaoi. But I didn't do a whole lot other than that. Except walk through the mall cause the last time I was at that mall I hadn't gone through the whole building. Oh wait, actually I went up into Artist's Alley too. I wasn't expecting to find anything up there to buy. And then I ended up running into Matt Heris who was having an interview at the time. But I ended up buying some Sonic badges and a glossy print from him and he even signed them for me.
Saturday we had to wake up early to at least get to the AMV screening cause we missed it the night before. So we went and some of those videos were really good. Some were as funny as heck, one you wanted to shoot the guy singing and another one ended up causing the sing-along for the rest of the time at the convention. Oh yeah, I also cosplayed as Flonne that day. First thing in the morning and I already had people pulling me to the side cause they wanted to take my picture and I even got glomped on my way to the Dealer's room. Caught me completely off guard. Afterwards, we waited in line for the PG-13 Anime Dating Game (which Link ended up making it 18+ during the second half) and then went to the Para para class. I watched the Brawl Games that were going on upstairs in the hallway too. We would have done a lot more that day if it wasn't for the line forming for the Masquerade.... 4 hours before it was supposed to start. So while my friends reserved a spot in line, I had gone back to the dealer's room, then down to the Gaming room. Like I said, I didn't want to wait in that line. At first, I didn't even want to go to the masquerade. But I was glad I went after all. Especially just to see the last performance. (You can finally shoot the dog! Yes!)
Sunday was all about Cosplay Chess (and the sing-along again). It was sorta funny. Except the characters on the chess board were not listening to where they had to move. Every so often, you would have a character in a spot he was supposed to have moved from three turns back. But it dragged on and on. So even though it was kids vs. adults, in the end it was the pirates who won.
So, when it comes to stuff I got, aside from the stuff from Matt Heris, I got the Alien Nine manga collection and anime for 20 bucks (and I don't know why I like it at all. It's so weird, but I really do like it). I also got myself a Sonic hat. I saw everyone wearing it and I had to have one of my own. Not to mention I got a handful of plushies that I really don't need but I just had to have.
Now, there are some things still stuck in my mind from the convention. Mostly stuff from the pre-show and all. I'm sure you'd understand quite a bit but maybe not all the stuff that was going on? I guess you'd really understand if you guys had been there, but this stuff that keeps going on and on in my head.
1. "I just lost the game!" or "You just lost the game!" 2. Crazy Weapon requests: "Chains- for dragging my friend around to show off our yaoi-ness" 3. Good idea: Singing your favorite songs Bad idea: "Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna run around....." Worst idea: "I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves.... everybody's nerves..." 4. School Vacations are to~ so short, it's sad really; as Edward Elric is to~ so short, it's sad really. 5. "Still Alive" Woo! Sing Along! 6. And finally, "Save a Horse, Ride a MUSTANG!"

Yea, some great cosplayers. That Jack Sparrow was freaking amazing! He looked exactly like Johnny Depp and his acting(which was constant throughout the weekend) was perfect, walking that weird way with his arms all out. Did you see the Davey Jones? Really good one there.
I dunno which Haruhi you were talking about since.... there were 60. And none of them used yellow ribbons for the hair instead of orange. Funny too since you get the damn things when you buy the first volume of the DVD in the box set. I am glad that series is popular and next year I'll see a ton of Lucky Star ones. And I happy they told the release date Vol. 1 for that one there! May 6th!!! Can't wait!

Omg he was back? Last year he was in the masquerade and it was so funny. Though Kenshin ended up killing him. And was Waldo back? I sent one of the dA admins out to find him this year. And I must say, when i woke up this morning and went downstairs Fox 25 was airing a story about Anime Boston and I just put my head on my moms shoulder and went "I could have been there!!" I honestly almost cried during three different times this weekend. Once was while I was working and Mark was like "Sam are you okay?" and I was like "... I could have been in Boston!!"

Anime Boston is the only con that I can go to until I'm 18, and that isn't until late July. So i'm stuck for quite a while. Next year though, I'm going to Anime Boston with my friends, and nothing can ruin it! Cause we will be so damn determined.

Maybe I could go then. Of course I'd have to get my friends on board, it is actually pretty short notice, but I think maybe if we pull together we could do something. But I don't know if it would happen.
We were going to take the T into Boston, but I don't know about Connecticut.
