I mean it! I have heard about this for a while now. It has been confirmed. However, for huge FF fans, you probably already know about this. However, why isn;t there just a game sequal to Final Fantasy 7? I don't get it.

It will hit America, but I'm not sure if it is going straight to Video or to the theaters.

[glow=blue,2,300]Wow. Good thing I decided to search a little. x.x So much information concerning the movie has changed since this topic was last posted in. It's a movie for FFVII, taking place two years after the game had ended. The release date had been pushed back at least three times from the original summer 2004 date; now it's this September for both the US and Japan. If things go right, we get Advent Children a day before Japan does, however if not, then we probably get it at the end of the month. Ever since I first learned of this movie almost two years ago, I've been hopelessly obsessed, and have been checking one of the unofficial sites quite regularly. www.ff7ac.net This is it. So far, it's the best one I've come across since I first started looking for information on it.[/glow]

As to the game bit for FF7, there's Dirge of Cerberus, which is apparently a game sequel to the movie sequel Advent Children.

Sorry Kaidona, but all sources have pointed to this. It was just to test out the PS3's capabilities. I don't know if all of these sources are right, but GamePro and such have all said it's not real. Then again, it's still early, so you really don't know.

[glow=blue,2,300]On the site I linked, I remember reading an article from GameSpot that talked about what Square thought about the positive feedback they got from the tech demo. According to what they got as a response, it's not necessarily a matter of whether they will, but when. *was rather pissed when she first heard the negative on the remake, until reading that article*
If I know game fans enough, Square won't be left alone until they make it a definite. XD[/glow]

Speakin of FF7, I got Sephy's theme on AOL radio. xD It's the same one used in KH. I'm having fun listening to it.
I don't remember if it was here of not, where I first read it wasn't going to be real.

There is 2 games and 2 movies based on Final Fantasy VII. The games are Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII(PS2) and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII(PSP). The movies are FF7 Advent Children(coming out Sept 14) and Before Crisis. They also made a PS3 Tech demo on the opening cinematic of FF7.

[glow=blue,2,300]Yes, they did. And, after much searching for various trailers, I finally found all of them I have access to as is, and with the last one I got my hands on, I also found Iae's voice! X3 *rather pleased with that accomplishment* I never expected Vincent to get such a deep voice, now that i think about it. *now on a quest to find who the Japanese VA for him is x__x*
Oh, and in reference to Seph's theme, no version beats the orchestrated One Winged Angel. *griiin*[/glow]

Are they going to get english VA's for Advent Children? I heard that they were just going to subtitle it. I guess subtitleing it might be better, Im too worried they would screw up Cloud's voice.

Since all the trailers this year(E3 and last month's Square-Enix block party) only had subtitles, I'm expecting subtitles only.

[glow=blue,2,300]Actually, I think they are getting english VAs. All the trailers I got my hands on had subtitles, but there was one that had an american announcer-dude blabbing over stuff that Kadaj was saying.[/glow]

Hm. I'd like to hear what the English VAs sound like as opposed to the Japanese ones.

[glow=blue,2,300]That was ...I can't remember. I'd have to beat the game again. If they do the same thing in the US like Japan did, then they'll use the same VAs for the movie characters as they did for the corresponding KH characters.[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]I haven't played the games, but I can say this movie sounds cool! I'll have to get it on DVD sometime. and yesh, orchastrated one wing is cool. >> << er...^^; a friend got the bootlegged version of the movie...and since he doesn't have sound on his compy...he kinda wanted to watch the movie at my house...don't hate meh! >> I have to say though...I really really wanna get the games...but first I needa PS2...which I probably will never get...so...I hear its playable on the compy? In that case, I wanna get it! Now for your amusement...FFVII spoofs! www.deviantart.com/view/9754184/ - graphics are bad and I would suggest you let it run through once and then refresh the page so you can get the thing as it should be.. www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/169933 - you need to click the link on the right that says "watch this movie" a new window will pop up with the flash. While you're waiting for it to load, play Materia Madness, you get to unlock specialistic bonus scenes...its a quite fun memory challenging game, the best extra scene is 5, in which you have to beat the game to view. The thing itself is funny as well.[/glow]

There is a version of FFVII out for the computer, but it is somewhat lacking (even more so that the PS1 version by today's standards) in the graphics and sound department. All the sounds are MIDI, I believe, and everything has been mushed into 2-D.
*blinks at the links* Hm...

I had FF VII for the PC at some point, not very good I must say. All the music was slowed down and sounded horrible.

*noddles* That's what MIDI does t'ya. Not bad, but when it's for an awesome soundtrack... *shudders* One-Winged Angel was turned MIDI, and I for one never want to hear that. It would make me sob. Hysterically. And I don't cry.

[glow=purple,2,300]ouch. >< MIDI. I have the ochastrated version of it (albeit shortend). MIDI would be unbelieveable. I guess I'll live with watching meh friend who has the game play. O.o ish it true that the release has been pushed back 'til January?[/glow]
