It's really not that old school, but it was a Dreamcast game and I loved it! I wish I still had my Dreamcast because I want to play this game right now.
Jet Grind Radio is pretty much a game where you get to tag the streets of the city. You start out in Shibuya with three characters, but you unlock more later. Now, I know that the characters look a little boxy and all, but this game is still great. It was just part of the style. And it had some great music on it too, like Magical Girl and Super Brother by Guitar Vader. Yeah, the names sound a little strange, but they're catchy songs.
But there isn't a big challenge in just tagging, so of course you'll be running from police or you'll be taking out rival taggers. Then there's the occasional canines that chase you and the helicopters that shoot constantly at you. Anyways, this game is great to have, and you guys should try it some time.

Jet Grind Radio was awesome! This was one of the first games I saw use the cel shading technique, and I thought it looked so cool. Its such a fun game and has so much style, man now I wanna play it again. I still have my dreamcast but no Jet Grind Radio.
Did you ever play Jet Set Radio Future for Xbox? That one was good too.

I can't say I have played it. I don't have an XBox. But does it still have the same cell shading in it? And what about the characters? Gum has got to still be in it. She was one of my favorite characters.

It does still use the cel shaded style, and it looks alot better too. I think Gum and Beat are the only two that are in it from the first game. Oh, and DJ Professor K is still the DJ.
You know, I cant remember if I ever actually beat the original Jet Grind Radio....

hmm... I definitely did beat it. The last stage was something I was not expecting. But all in all, the game was awesome. Lots of characters, great music, and tagging. Of course tagging is so much fun.

This question's been nagging me for a while. It was first Jet Grind Radio, now it's Jet Set Radio. I see in games like Sega Superstars Tennis, that the series' name had been switched from Grind to Set. Why is that?

It could be because of the whole radio station thing going on throughout the game. I can't say that really is the reason. But I do know that throughout the game, the DJ kept announcing his radio station which was called Jet Set Radio.
Hmm... now I'm curious to know the real answer. I'm gonna have to look for it.
